I woke up around seven. Ilang oras lang ang aking tulog kaya naman tila inaantok pa ako nang bumangon. Ilang segundo pa akong napatingin sa paligid.

Ah, right! I'm in Malta now. Magbabago na ang routine ko starting from this day.

I took a bath immediately and wore my uniform. Pumunta ako sa may sentro ng base at hinanap kung saan ang sinasabi ni Briar na accommodation houses.

He said there are three of them.

I looked around and medyo magkakalayo lang sila kaunti. The rest are tents around the differeng wing sections. Nasa may east rin yata ang medical site. Sa south naman ang sa tingin ko'y fire station.

Naglakad ako papuntang left wing para tignan ang mga accommodation houses. Halos magkakapareho lang naman ang style nito sa labas at loob.

Hanggang sa may napadaang mga kapwa ko sundalo. They greeted and saluted me. I saluted them back since they're familiar to me.

Galing din sila sa Ohio base gaya namin. Some of the men are from Idaho base too.

Pagkapasok sa isa sa mga accommodation house ay agad akong tumungong kitchen para kumuha ng coffee. Hinihintay ko nalang ito matapos since we have coffee machine naman, nang may lumapit sa akin.

"Here you are."

"Captain Adams?" I greeted him tsaka ako sumaludo. He saluted me back then patted my shoulder.

"I didn't know you were here already?" Si Cody sabay ngiti.

I just nodded.

"Yeah. Kaninang madaling araw pa. I'm with Lior." I answered.

"I know." Cody nodded.

"Coffee?" Ngiti ko sabay bigay ang dapat na para sakin.

"Are you sure you're giving it to me? That's new!" Asar nito pero kinuha din ang mug mula sakin. Then he chuckled.

Napailing iling nalang ako. Kaya naman gumawa uli ako ng panibagong coffee. We were just talking for a minute. Cody explained to me the different area here in the Malta base.

So there are three accommodation houses, which are the; A1 (house one), A2 (house two) and A3 for (house three). Meron ding fire and training station around the area. With medical site, just like what I've predicted.

A1 is the main house of the base, it is more bigger than the two. A2 and A3 are for the captains and other higher units.

"So I think this is the main house, then?" I asked Cody before looking around the house. Mas malaki at malawak nga siya.

"You're right." Si Cody.

"What do you think?" He asked.

"You're asking me about the house? Or the whole base?" Sabay tawa ko. Cody just laughed it too. Hanggang sa hingal na hingal na dumating si Lior.

Taas baba ang kanyang paghinga bago lumapit ito sa amin.

"I talked to– hah– I talked to‐" Hingal ni Lior.

"Breathe, Surgeant." Si Cody kay Lior.

"I talked to Captain Young." Nawala ang ngiti ko nang narinig ko ang pagbanggit ni Lior sa pangalan nito.

"And?" Pagtataka ko.

"I requested to train you for the mean time." Aniya. Binaba ko tuloy ang aking mug dahil tila magkakaroon ng conflict sa kanyang ginawa.

"He said yes." Si Lior habang hiningal padin. Napa O ang bibig ni Cody.

"That's good then." Si Cody. Lior nodded.
