Pubba then told you to go in a "secret compartment" which was the stairs.
"Come on get in there." Pubba said.
"I'm not going in that..." You said.
"You can take whatever you want in there." Pubba said.
You dashed and grabbed your bag,there were some books in it, and Gus grabbed his syrup,along with dog,his plush.
Pubba closed the hatch after you two got in,and stuck his pinky through a small gap.
"Promise me you won't get out no matter what you hear?" Pubba asked.
You both shook his pinky.
"We promise." You both said in unison.
"Good." Pubba said heading out.

You and Gus had been in there for what seemed like hours,it was already sunset, and you could hear distant screams,you were reading your book called 'Pinnochio'.
You heard a loud "NO!" in the distance and you crawled over to Gus,who was sipping on his syrup.
"I-im scared.." You whispered.
"It's okay,I'm scared too." Gus said pulling you in a hug.
You two stayed like that for a while.
Just then you heard another scream and the window break. You held onto Gus tighter,for dear life.
Him on the other hand, let go and opened the hatch to see a deer.
He reached out his hand ant the petted the dear.
You both then heard a loud scream.
"NO,NO! AHH!"
It was Pubba.
You and Gus ran outside,the deer had ran away now.
Gus got his slingshot ready,an closed his eyes.
Your eyes were wide open and you hid behind Gus.
You saw Pubba in the distance and ran to him.
"Pubba! PUBBA!" You yelled.
Gus opened his eyes and ran towards Pubba as well.
"Pubba we heard a scream! It was so scary!" You exclaimed hugging him.
Gus hugged him as well,but the unexpected happened.

You and Gus carried Pubba inside and set him on the seat near the fireplace.
"I hope he's okay.." You mumbled.
"Mhm.." He said grabbing his plush.
"I'm gonna sleep for a while Gus, if Pubba needs anything,wake me up." You said.
He just nodded and slid on the edge of the bed.

You woke up to the sound of rustling.
'What's...that..?' You thought getting up and putting your shoes on.
"Y/N? How did you sleep?" Gus asked.
"Hnnng..it was okay I guess." You said sitting down at the table.
Pubba was sitting there too,and you were into a deep conversation when Gus looked at him.
"Will you ever tell us the truth?" He asked.
"What do you-" Pubba tried to ask but got cut off.
"STOP WITH THAT CRAP!" He yelled shaking the table.
"Gus! Where did you learn that word?!" Pubba asked.
"I'm 11 Y/N is 10,we deserve to know!" He said ignoring Pubba.
He sighed.
"Make breakfast and we'll talk about it then..." he said.
You and Gus grabbed your coats and went outside,you grabbed eggs while he grabbed syrup.
"Hello ducks!" You exclaimed heading towards their nest.
"Alright we're three so...one...two,three!" You said counting the eggs and taking them.
You were skipping happily home when you saw Gus on his knees crying.
"Gus..?"
