school. nobody's favourite place and it was August's least favourite place so as she lifted her head from the front passenger seat in Junes car her head flopped back into the head rest of her seat as the high school got closer to them while June drove through the student car park looking for a place to park.

"do we really have to be here like full honesty who really needs this place?" August moaned as June put her Toyota 2008 Corolla into reverse slowly backing into a place between a small grey Porsche and the bike park station.

"its either this or homelessness your pick." June hummed lifting her head looking in her rearview mirror.

"oh come on it can't be that bad." May smiled as she picked her backpack off the floor of the car in the back seat, today was May's first day at a high school, she was a freshman and she was really excited despite what August had to say about the place.

"ha thats funny May thats really funny. this place is the definition of toxic society." August said as they all unbuckled their seatbelts from their seats .

"how is this place toxic?" June asked rolling her eye at her sister as August slouched in her seat. "you just don't like this place because you haven't made friends to enjoy it with." June added before August answered, she wasn't wrong she didn't have any friends to make it worth while.

"what! June I'm gonna list two main names and you tell me they aren't toxic, Lydia Martin and Jackson Whittmore I mean hello they run the school they look down on everyone who isn't in their clique!" August complained while May passed August and June their school bags.

"thats two people now get over it and get out my damn car!" June said shoving August's bag into her.

Despite all the complaining and grumping from August, May was still over the moon to be going to the high school, all her friends were coming here she was top of all her classes in middle school so she just hoped it stayed that way here. one thing that did cross her mind was that she would have to grow out of Junes shadow all over again here, she wasn't so worried about August shadow over her here she just knew it would be the same as middle school none of the teachers even would know who August was, August how ever like it that way.

"now May, have an amazing first day and don't listen to August this place is great if you stick with the right people." June smiled looking down at her youngest sister.

"copy that!" May said before spotting a couple of her middle school friends over near the entrance. "gotta go bye." she smiled as she ran over to her friends.

"and you don't sit in that god damn library today, sit with people make friends maybe some new kids will be here this year be friends with them." June said wrapping one arm around her younger sister as they walked up to the entrance of the high school "and I'm gonna be in the library all lunch, me and some friends are studying for our S.A.T's so I will know if you are in there." June warned with a passive agressive smile.

"you know you can be a real pain in the ass." August glared as at her sister as they walked through the main hall way.

"oh get over it. this year will be great for all of us, mark my words August Cailleach!" June said walking further down the hall way to her class as August reached her locker.

all August was left to think was about where the hell she was supposed to go at lunch now if her sister is going to be guarding then library from August presence. she did hope that June was right about there possibly being new kids here that don't know her or her sisters and definitely don't know Lydia Martin! but that was it wasn't it, it was only hope.

'ding- ding- ding- ding'

the bell went notifying students to run along to their classes as the school day had officially started, and August hated it not just being there at the school but it was the fact she had English first period with a teacher which makes her want to jump out of the classroom windows.

she isn't a troubling child she never has been she always did follow laws and rules and she never missed a class unless she was off sick or had an appointment of some kind, she was smart and it showed. she's always been in the same class with nearly all the same people and she's always done well she just didn't like the fact she was alone in the class she had no friends in.

She felt invisible most of the time except from one person they always noticed her ask for her help and yet she still has no idea who he is as far as she knows he's just the guy that sits next to her in English and has since middle school, and she was pretty sure he saw her the same way just the girl thats always sat next to him since middle school.

and perusal she walked into the English class her English books clutched to her chest as she walked to the back of the class sitting in the same seat as last year next to the same boy who always greeted her with a slight nod and a smile before their English teacher began.

"to the syllabus which is on your desk outlining the semester." he said bringing all the students in the room to read through the syllabus flicking through the pages that had been stapled together.

August didn't get far with reading before she remembered what June said that there might be new kids this year so she shot her head up and looked around to find all the same people as last year and with that she fell into her seat further continuing to read the syllabus just like the rest of them.

it really was just a hope game at this point she didn't know if there would be any new students and if there were any Lydia Martin would of already swooped in on them before August could even get the first syllable of her sentence out.

And just like that as August had hoped for a new student the class room door swung open to reveal their principle walking through followed by a taller raven hair girl with an ocean teal scarf wrapped around her neck, one that August had always admired in shops but never actually had the courage to buy.

As soon as the girl was fully visible to the whole class everyones eyes were on her and the principle as he spoke keeping it short and sweet. "class, this is our new student, Allison Argent." August couldn't lie she was so happy there was a new student and one who looked like the nicest person on the planet. "please do your very best to make her feel welcome." their principle finished before walking out the class closing the door behind him.

Allison quickly walked towards the back of the class one seat in front of August and one behind a shaggy haired boy, who slowly turned around in his seat awkwardly holding a pen out to her, he didn't even ask her if she needed a pen it was as if he knew.

"thanks." August heard Allison as she accepted the pen from the boy.

"we'll begin with Kafkas metamorphosis on page one hundred and thirty three." the teacher announced to the class after Allison was sat down at her desk with a pen and paper at the ready.

August had the most mixed emotions just from this class, she hated the teacher he was a total snooze fest but the new student was in her class and she could actually talk to her before Lydia could poison her.
