There, Beira is the villain. If you're reading The NOOM, to avoid spoilers, I recommend reading this story after you finish Book 1, The Gathering, and Book 2, Cursed, though the real spoilers start at chapter 9 (Raven's Letter). I included a warning at the beginning of that chapter in case you decide to read up to there. Current status: waiting for the plot of Book 2, Cursed, to catch up. * Disclaimer: Starting from Chapter 5, this story blends the myth of Beira with the series The New Order of Merlin (open fanfiction). The Well of Youth will not turn into fanfiction. However, there will be character names mentioned which come from that series. You do not need to read The NOOM or be familiar with any of the fandoms in order to enjoy Beira's tale. After all, THIS is the backstory, not the other way around. The plan was that Cailleach would make it back to her kingdom by the next morning, but life is never that simple. Cailleach, princess of Upper Dous, has lived a sheltered life, but when rescued by Prince Adrian, she is thrust into the deep end, and has to learn how to survive. Adrian is the usual Prince Charming, and is madly in love with Cailleach, who doesn't want anything to do with him. He has to learn things too, such as accepting others' wishes. Ransom is recruited by Cailleach and Adrian to lead them back to Upper Dous when the pair get lost. He hides a lot about himself, for unexplained reasons. He is probably the only person who doesn't have to learn anything on the trip through the woods. The most obvious thing for everyone, though, is that in the woods, nothing is what it seems.

Cailleach is known for her cold, for her power of death and destruction in the bitter bites of the Samhain (or, Winter). She had no qualms in performing her duties until one day during a blizzard when a lost spirit attached itself to her. What had the Fates in store for her? Annabelle gets tangled up with the wrong crowd in an attempt to get off the streets and finally find a home. She is rescued by the Avengers and becomes part of the team and catches the eye of a certain reformed God of Mischief and Lies. Anna finds information about her past that she struggles to comprehend. Peace throughout the nine realms is threatened by a Goddess thought to only exist in legend and folklore. The team find themselves battling forces even the Norse God's themselves thought were fairy tales. Slow burner story. This story takes place in my own time line so it's not restricted or heavily influenced by the movies. I'm hoping this will give my story telling more freedom. This is my first fan fic. But there is a problem, many miles North on a Scottish mountain, the Goddess of Winter and her son discover Avalon's plans, and are incensed that they cannot bring the Winter southwards. Desperate to stop the pact between humans and the natural world, the Goddess tries to attack Holly and Crae, she is in vain, so instead, she takes Kelsie hostage - believing she is weak and powerless. But not even the Goddess is prepared for what happens next.
