I hummed along with the song on the radio as I sat upside down on the couch and made a list of food for the wedding. I smiled down at my left hand, the green jewel sparkling."So, come a little closer now, listen to us all a little. We got nothing here to hide, we don't got to hide, noo. We don't have to fake you out, no. I'll be shooting down the middle. You'll see the truth in time and we know why." I sang lowly as I jotted down food ideas. "Because, we got heart, because, we got heart. Because, we got heart, yeah we do, yeah we do. Now the world is ours, from here to the stars. Because, we got heart, me and you,"
"Me and you." Another voice finished the last bit with me as the couch dented next to me. Arms snaked around my waist and I leaned closer, smiling as I did so. "What are you working on?" He asked and I held up the list for him to see.
"Food for the wedding." I said as I sat up and placed a small peck on the blonde's lips. I swung my legs around to be on the floor and leaned against my fiancé.
"Mmm, what's on the list?" Alex asked and I looked down at the piece of paper.
"So far, a taco bar, brownies and Mason insisted on pigs in a blanket. He said if we didn't have pigs in a blanket he was gonna throw sand at us." I said and he laughed.
"Oh, my mom's flying out on Sunday with Haley. She said she wants to help with as much as she can on the wedding and my dad and Scott will be here two days prior."
"That's great, Alex."
"How are the invitations going on your side?" He asked and I chuckled.
"As soon as I told Ink we were getting married he vowed to be on the next flight over. I expect he'll be here in the next forty-eight hours." I said and Alex laughed. "The others said they'll be here next week. What about Sam and Joseph?"
"They're clearing their schedules." He said and I smiled. "Raven? Any word where she's at?"
"No clue, I was able to track her down to Puerto Rico a few months ago but after that the trail went cold." I sighed and Alex rubbed my back. I set down the list and cuddled closer to him.
"Well, I'm sure what she's doing is important to her. She'll turn up eventually." The blonde said and I nodded.
"Yeah, it's her loss anyway." I said and Alex smiled. He leaned down and placed a peck on my lips. "What about the Professor and Bigfoot?"
"I called the school and Charles is in Morocco recruiting new mutants. Hank said he'd love to come but he's really busy running the school. He says congratulations and he wishes us the best of luck." Alex said the last bit in a mocking tone and I laughed.
"Sounds like him." I chuckled as the gleam of the ring caught my eye. I subconsciously smiled down at my hand.
"Excited?" Alex asked and I looked up at him.
