Everyone stood outside on the lawn as Erik and Jean rebuilt the school. I stood with Alex, watching the materials move through the air as Mason was talking with Raven, Charles and Hank off to the side. How should I tell Alex? I suppose now is as good a time as any."Alex." I said, getting his attention. The blonde turned to look down at me.
"Hmm?" I turned to him and took a deep breath.
"I'm pregnant." I spoke and he stared at me.
"What?"
"I'm pregnant." I watched my husband nervously.
"I-I'm gonna be a dad?" He asked and I nodded. "We're gonna be parents?" I nodded again and he smiled. "I'm gonna be a dad!" He shouted excitedly, picking me up and spinning me around. I laughed as Alex set me down and placed a kiss on my lips. "I love you."
"I love you too." Soon enough the mansion was rebuilt and we all went in. Alex went to talk to Scott and I smiled as I caught up with Mason. "Hey, we're thinking of heading out soon. Just gonna stick around long enough to say our goodbyes."
"Actually, I need to talk to you about that." My little brother said and I looked at him. "I was talking with the Professor and he offered me a job here."
"Really?" I asked and he nodded. "What are you going to teach?" I asked and Mason smiled.
"I'm gonna teach some science classes with Hank and help out with the new training program for defense."
"Mase, that's awesome!" I said and Mason beamed. "Good luck with the kids."
"I could say the same to you." He smirked and I rolled my eyes, smiling anyway. "And I expect regular updates on how my niece is doing."
"I never said it was going to be a girl."
"I know but I've got a feeling." Mason crossed his arms and I laughed.
"Whatever. I'll see you later." The two of us hugged and I walked towards the Professor's office. I knocked before entering and found Alex talking with the Professor.
"Ah, come in, Maya. I was just trying to see if I could possibly persuade you both to stay and help our new program." Charles said and I smiled.
"I'd love to, Charles but I'm sorry, we've got our own kid to take care of first." I said, holding my hand over my stomach. Charles stared at me for a moment before smiling.
"Congratulations." He said and I smiled. "I wish you both the best."
"You as well, Charles." Alex said, holding out his hand. They shook hands and we bid goodbye to the Professor. I walked hand in hand with my husband as we headed towards the doors. We found Raven and Hank, saying our goodbyes to both of them. I waved bye to Jean, Kurt and Scott as they walked past us and they waved back. Once we'd said our goodbyes we climbed into our car and started the drive back to our house. I smiled as I watched Alex drive. I'd seen what the world was like without him and I didn't ever intend to go through it again. Alex's blonde hair flapped behind him due to the wind of our windows being down. I giggled and he turned to look at me. "What?"
"Just thinking about how much I love you." I winked and Alex smiled.
"How much?" He smirked, keeping his eyes on the road.
"Hmm, this much." I leaned over and placed a kiss on his cheek.
"Love." Alex warned and I smiled. "I need to keep my eyes on the road."
"Whatever you say." I said, playing with my bobby pin as he smiled.
"I love you too." The blonde man said and I smiled. A few minutes later I spoke again.
"So, I was thinking about Chris for a boy and Annabell for a girl. What do you think?" I asked, watching the trees blur together out the window as we zoomed past. I glanced at Alex and saw him smile. His dad and my mom's names.
"I think that sounds perfect."

Five years later
I sat in the dining room filling out some paperwork. Chris is supposed to start Kindergarten next year and I needed to get all the papers filled to get him enrolled at the nearest school. After ten minutes I finally finished filling everything out when I heard the pitter patter of little feet running down the hallway towards me. I smiled and looked up as my son ran into the room.
"Mommy, Mommy, look!" Chris shouted excitedly, holding up a piece of paper. It was a hand painting of the three stick figures. "It's me and you and Daddy."
"Oh my God, baby, it's beautiful." I said, looking down at the picture. Chris beamed up at me as his dad entered the room.
"I think it's even fridge worthy." Alex said and Chris looked up at me with hopeful eyes. I smiled and picked the four year old up.
"Fridge! Fridge!" He chanted and Alex and I laughed.
"Fridge it is." I announced, handing him over to his dad. Alex hoisted Chris on his hip to carry him while I picked up the paper. The three of us made our way into the kitchen and I pinned up the drawing on the fridge.
"Yay!" Chris cheered and Alex began tossing him up and down. The small blonde laughed and my husband turned to me.
"Did you finish filling out the papers?" He asked and I nodded.
"Yeah. Are you excited to start school, Chris?" I asked and he nodded vigorously.
"School! School!"
"I think that's a yes." Alex chuckled and I smiled at my boys.
"So, what do we want for dinner?" I asked and Chris was the one to answer.
"Lasna!" He shouted and I smiled.
"And is there a movie you want to watch?" Alex asked, looking down at our son. Chris thought about it for a few seconds before answering.
"Dogies!"
"Okay. Lasagna and One Hundred One Dalmatians it is." I announced and both boys cheered.
"C'mon, Chris, let's go clean up our painting station." Alex said, setting the four year old down.
"Otay." The four year old agreed. Alex tried to lean over to give me a kiss but Chris grabbed his finger and began to pull. My husband almost fell and I laughed as they ran off. I hummed as I started making the lasagna 'Are you, are you, coming to the tree.' I pulled out the ingredients. 'They strung up a man, they say who murdered three.' I layered the tomato sauce, cheese, meat, pasta sheets and some veggies. 'Strange things did happen here, no stranger would it be.' I plopped the lasagna into the oven, pressing the timer. 'If we met at midnight in the hanging tree.'
The End.
