Jisoo sat down on the bench next to the riverside. She always loved coming here, as this was the place where she had first met her best friend, Kim Taehyung. They had been besties for about 6 years now, almost 7. She inhaled the fragrance of street food coming from the roads behind her. Nostalgia hit her like a car crash. She remembered the old days, where they all could run around freely, without a care in the world, as young people. Now that they had grown into young adults, life had taken an unexpected turn. She remembered the exact moment when they had met.
/// Flashback ///
Little Jisoo ran around the playground happily, not a care in the world for her.
She looked so happy to be there, as she engaged in talks with many of the other kids there.
Her mother watched her fondly as she talked to her school friends and increased her long list of friends.
Her mother could not even remember half of their names, as the list was infinite.
She watched curiously as she made friends with Kim Taehyung, the son of her best friend. His father was there too, watching them with a smile on his face. She turned her attention back to Jisoo and Tae, who apparently seemed to be crying over something. She watched as Jisoo pointed to her, and Tae nodded. She looked at them curiously.
She watched as Jisoo ran up to her and asked her in her cute aegyo voice,
''Eomma, can I have some ice cream, jebal?''
Her mother could not refuse her cuteness, and took her to the ice cream stall next to the playground. She brought her an ice cream, and little Jisoo ran off to her friends.
She watched as Jisoo ran over to Taehyung, and offered him her ice cream. Jisoo's mother smiled to herself, knowing that Jisoo and Taehyung had shared a spark of friendship that would last for a lifetime.

Jisoo smiled to herself upon remembering these memories.
The sun suddenly disappeared behind the clouds.
Clouds? I didn't see any clouds before. Jisoo thought, confused. She had been so caught up in her thoughts that she did not even take in her surroundings.
The clouds slowly darkened and she could hear thunder overhead.
Great! It's probably gonna rain now and I don't have an umbrella, let alone a coat. Well shiteu.
She sat there, pondering about why she existed and other random stuff, when she felt rain on her clothed shoulders.

Wow. Just what I needed to end my day.
As the rain started to deepen, she shivered uncontrollably and held herself tightly. Suddenly she felt the rain had spontaneously gone away. She could still hear thunder and raindrops on the streets; she could even see them. However, when she turned to the side, she was greeted with the smiling face of her best friend. He gave her a gummy smile and it made her day, to be honest.
''What are you doing out here, alone, and in the rain?'' He asked, in a concerned tone.
''I just wanted to come and sit here.''
''You should have brought a coat.''
She rolled her eyes at him and said teasingly,
''Well, unless you have a eye problem, you might have noticed that it was sunny like 10 minutes ago.''
He sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck as she giggled quietly. He realised that he had been standing the whole time, so he sat down next to her.
''So, how has your life been?'' She asked.
This time, he rolled his eyes at her, and replied,
''It's interesting. I made a new friend today.''
''Oh really? Who?'' She felt a small feeling of jealousy and dread building up in her. Dread as she did not want to be replaced, as last time he had made a new friend she had almost lost him. And jealousy, because, well, maybe we'll keep that private for now.
''Yeah, he's really cute.''
Wait, HE? As far as I know, Taehyung is not gay.
''Really? When can I meet him?''
''If you want to, you can meet him right now.''
Jisoo felt excited but also dread building up inside her as Taehyung got up and gestured to her to do the same. She watched as Tae skipped along the sidewalk, as they headed in the direction of his house.
Hmm, why his HOUSE?
They soon reached there, and Taehyung opened the door cautiously before letting Jisoo in.
''Be a bit quiet, he might be sleeping.''
wHaT iN tHe AcTuAl HeLl?
Suddenly there was a loud barking sound and I saw a furry ball launch itself at Taehyung.
A fUrRy BaLl?
''Aish...''
''Wut....?
Taehyung struggled to get the thing off him, and when he did, he held it up proudly and said,
''Jisoo, meet Yeontan.''
