Draco's P.O.V

I sit in potions, wondering what happened to Phoenix. Is she okay? Should I go check I her? Maybe I should just leave her alone. She seemed pretty out of it.

I look up when the doors open, smirking at the trio walking through the door. Frowning, I realize that Phoenix isn't with them.

I see Grangers face, looking unsure of something. That's a first. I could've laughed if I wasn't so worried about Phoenix.

I watch her as her eyes keep flicking down to her hand. I see a note, held loosely and gently, like it might break. After a second, it begins to wiggle in her hand. She gasps and jumps, dropping it onto the floor. After another tense second, it begins to float a couple inches off the floor. It takes me a minute to realize that it's floating to me.

I catch it and open it, wondering who would've put this much effort into a note.

I read it, feeling a smile creep across my face at Phoenix's nervously written words. As if I could say no...

I start to wonder if someone slipped a luck potion into my pumpkin juice this morning. Looks like we have our next class together, too.

I sit impatiently as I wait for class to be over. I am so impatient, in fact, that I manage to fuck up my potion, set my sleeve on fire, black my eye, and bust my lip on the table.

Finally, it's time to go and I practically run out to the doors, waiting for Phoenix. I look around, looking for any trace of her. Soon, I catch her eye, and I feel my worry start to evaporate.

She walks over and I see her smile. I notice that whenever she smiles, she always keeps her lips together, never showing her teeth.

I decide to make her laugh so hard, so has no choice but to show me her teeth.

She gets a few feet away from me. "Hey. I didn't think you'd-- oh my gosh, what happened to you?!"

She grabs my chin gently, and turns my face side to side, looking in horror at my injuries. I bask in the feel of her warm hands on my face. I resist the urge to whine like a child when she lets go.

I watch as she starts rummaging through her bag, muttering to herself. After a minute of this, she pulls out her wand.

"I can fix that right up actually." She says, managing to sound both modest and proud at the same time.

I look at her wand, unsure. "And you're positive you know what you're doing? I'm not going to end up with a second head, am I?"

She laughs, rolling her eyes. "Of course not. I've done this a hundred times."

I stare for one more second, then nod my consent. She points the wand at me, doing a graceful swishing movement with her wrist, and murmurs a few unfamiliar words under her breath.

All of my pain fades, leaving me with a strangely pleasant tingling sensation. I give a sigh as my lip heals and my vision becomes normal again.

She smiles, almost smug. "See? Easy. I think I could do it in my sleep. O, ye of little faith." she adds mockingly.

I smile. "Alright, you've had your blaze of glory. but we need to get to class."

She nods and motions for me to lead. I laugh and walk in front of her, occasionally glancing back.

I slow down and let her pull up beside me. "So, you were going to ask me something, before your episode."

Her steps stutter and she gets very red. She opens her mouth, looking anywhere but at me. "I, um well, I was wondering if maybe... you'd want to hang out?"

I laugh in surprise and nod. "I'd love to. But we need to get to class, or the only hanging out we'll be doing will be in detention," I remind her, looking at the almost empty hallway.

She nods and walks quickly, with me right behind her.
