Last Period

I rushed to my next class, listening for the tardy bell which ultimately was equivalent to my doom. I finally saw the classroom I was supposed to be in and made a dive of sorts and barely made it into the classroom. I glanced around the class, looking for a familiar face.

"Can I help you?" A old, balding man with a bland voice peered at from his desk.

"Oh! Er, I'm the new student in your class. Aphmau?" I could feel the red rise up on my cheeks as everyone turned to look at me.

The teacher glanced at his attendance sheet, a look of intense concentration crossing over his face.

"Oh, yes! Okay then, go sit next to ummm... Ethan and... Dawn."

Wait...

I glanced over to the students (who were all staring at me) and tried to remember the faces that went with those names. A boy that I recognized gestured for me to go towards him. I obeyed instantly.

"Ethan, right?"

He nodded, pointing to the seat to his direct right. I quickly put my stuff down and sat, relived to be out of the spotlight.

"What are you doing here?"

I turned to see the girl from this morning, and almost like in a chessy fanfiction, had a flashback.

"Oh no, not you." Kala sighed, rolling her eyes. Sky and I turned to see some girl standing at my doorway, mad dogging me.

"Hi.. I'm Aphm-"

"Yeah, yeah. Nightmare girl who gropes other peoples boyfriends. Would you mind, I'm busy." She then proceeded to work on something in her notebook.

I felt a gentle tapping on shoulder and turned to see Ethan holding up a little dry erase board.

Don't worry, she's just been having issues with Adam.

I opened my notebook to a random page and began to write on it.

Adam?

I offered Ethan the pencil. He smiled and copied my actions.

You know, Sky Adam Does. By the way, I can hear.

Yeah, but do you really want Dawn to hear?

Touche.

We spent the rest of the period conversing through a price of paper.

Normal POV

"Yay, class is over! Uh, Ethan, why didn't we do anything today?" Aphmau peered curiously at her mute friend.

The new textbooks haven't come in yet for the new equipment, so we can't do anything.

"Oh. Cool. Well, I gotta run. If I think correctly, Satiel, Dom and Castor wanted to sit with me at dinner."

Aphmau, where were where you during lunch?

"Ummm, I was hiding in the bathroom... I didn't know who to sit with during lunch, so I just hid there.

Ethan smiled and waved, running ahead.

Aphmau entered the cafeteria again, preparing for the whirlwind that was her new companions.
