He placed a box on the counter, carefully wrapping a ribbon around it.

Today he's going over to bring his neighbor cookies, homemade cookies.

He snagged a jacket, lazily placing it on himself and heading towards the door, nervously opening it and walking outside.

Personally, he never thought he'd be going over there, there were so many bright colors, or.. brighter than what he liked. Pastels everywhere, but if they were chosen by her, they must be good for decoration, right?

He squinted as he walked outside, the bright summer sun burned his eyes ruthlessly as he walked along the path to the sidewalk. "It'll be fine." He sighed, stepping onto the sidewalk and then onto the path to her door, tensing up as he got closer.

He stepped onto the porch, carefully getting closer to the door and knocking on it. "It's.. fine." He spoke to himself for the last time today, as the door opened to reveal the sweet lady he'd been saying 'hi' to for the past weeks, or.. was it months?

"Oh- well good evening! What's the occasion?" Spec giggled, beaming up at him with her signature smile. "I- well, I've decided to return the favor for all the things you've given to me to welcome me to the neighborhood, so, here." He pushed the box closer to her face, causing her to stumble a few inches back, before taking it. "Awh, you didn't have to! But thank you anyways."

He nods, turning to return to his home before suddenly having his arm grabbed. "I- uh.." He turned back, looking at her with a skeptical expression. "..do you want to come in for a bit? We could share these." She looked to the side awkwardly, her cheeks and ears tinting a soft red in a somewhat cute way. "Alright then, if you wish." She squeaked, not expecting that and shuffling out of the way to let him in. "A- awesome! Don't mind the mess, it's just that I didn't expect to have any guests." She held the door, watching as he removed his shoes and stepped inside. "I don't mind." He nods at her. "Alright-" She closed the door, walking towards the kitchen with Wisp close behind. "Your home is.. very cozy."

He looks around the kitchen and the bit of the living room he can see, the place being decorated by well cared for plants, along with flowers of course, the dark wood planks giving more color to the plain off-white walls and giving it a cute cabin look, in all the place was simply.. lovely, that was the best he could describe it.

As he admired her decoration skills, Spec set the box of cookies on the table and walked to the cupboards and took two small cups. "Do you want anything to drink?" She glanced over at him. "Oh- water would be fine, please." She grinned, nodding. "On it!" She closed the cupboard, going to the sink and filling both cups with water before heading back to the table and placing them near the box.

As Wisp turned to head to the table, he heard hissing from the living room. "Oh- that must be Smoky.." She giggled awkwardly, walking over to the living room and picking up the black cat she was talking about. "You've seen Smoky, haven't you?" She tilts her head, walking back into the kitchen. "Yes, I've seen him before." Wisp glared slightly at the cat, almost hissing back. "Yea.. he'll get used to you, I promise." She hummed, sitting on a chair and letting Smoky lay in her lap. "Right.." He walked to a chair as well, sitting on it.

Spec carefully unwrapped the box, placing the ribbon aside and opening it. "Awwe.. these cookies are so cute!" She smiled, glancing up at Wisp. "I'm glad you like them." He nods again, taking his cup and sipping the water from it.

She took one of the cookies, with Wisp nervously watching to see her reaction.

He doesn't know why he finds this so important, but it is.

"Oh.. sugar cookies! Aw, my favorite-" Spec giggled, carefully chowing down on the rest of the cookie.

Wisp looking to the side, sighed softly in relief. "thank goodness.." He mumbled, now sitting up straight and looking back at her. "Why not try one?" Spec smiled up at him. "Oh- of course." He reached over, grabbing one and biting down. "That.. that is very good."

They spent the rest of the day chatting, it was enjoyable.

And it won't be the last time they would hang out.
