[ You wanna go where the girls are young and dumb. ]
. . .
It had been a week since first meeting Luna and Ginny in the Forbidden Forest and Adara had begun to spend all her time there, when it was bright, of course. She'd visit Eve and feed her whilst talking about things with Luna. The blonde girl spoke airily, and Adara always thought she had a way with words.
She'd also discovered why Luna was often barefoot: people stole her belongings and hid them around the castle, including her shoes - but Luna never seemed to mind. Infact, she blamed it on a strange species called Nargles, and Adara decided not to question it. She only wished things like that didn't get to her the same way it didn't get to Luna.
Ron had warmed up to her soon enough and she'd made friends with the Golden Trio, or at the very least aquaintances. Hermione and her were avid readers, which filled most of the topics they discussed on their own and they spent much of their time trying to explain muggle phenomenoms to Harry and Ron. As well as this, Ron had taught her Wizard's Chess, a game he took great pride in, though she wasn't any good.
Harry and her had gotten closer over the week. He hadn't done anything particularly special, he was just Harry. Adara found she never had to force a smile when he was around. A grin when Harry was near came so naturally.
"I can't read a book that long." Harry persisted, picking at his lettuce. He and Adara were sat at the Gryffindor table for dinner, although not accompanied by Ron or Hermione. Hermione had offered grudgingly to help Ron with his potions essay earlier that week.
"You don't have to read it all at once," Adara reasoned, "Just read 100 pages a month."
"But then that'll take around 8 months."
"... that's not that long." Adara shrugged quietly, attempting to defend her point.
"Adara." Harry gave her a look.
"What?"
Harry stayed silent, gawking at her with a look she didn't like much. It made her feel naïve. She put down her fork in frustration, causing a clatter. "Stop looking at me like that."
"Like what?"
She scoffed. "Like I'm crazy."
"You might be." This made Adara look up and give the boy a warning glare. Though still playful, it was enough for him to back down and face his underwhelming plate. Adara pondered over an idea for a moment before she turned to Harry once more.
