Anna's POV
She didn't say anything back. She just stared off to space silently. Ignoring my words.

It's like a whole new stranger... she's not in charge of me I could do whatever I want. I could pick up on smoking with Victoria. Maybe even get involved with some activities with her.

I sat next to Eva who looked at me.

"Told you so." She said and I scoffed.

"Shes not in charge with whoever I fall in love with? Who knows maybe Vic is the one." I said and she laughed.

"I hope she breaks your heart and make you realize your dumb." She said and I just looked at her in disbelief.

"That's not a nice thing to say." I said.

"Oh I'm sorry. Maybe you should have listened to me first before going off and ghosting her." She said before the teacher told us to be quiet.

"I didn't ghost her!" I sternly said and she just rolled her eyes.

Me and Eva fought the entire time to lunch when we sat down with everyone else.

"Woah Woah what are y'all fighting about?" Sab said.

"This fucking trash idiot decided to ghost the one girl that didn't hurt her and went for a slut." She said and that was it.

"Don't call her a fucking slut! I date whoever I want to date! It's my life!" I yelled.

"Oh okay yeah you do whatever you want." She said and I scoffed.

That's when Victoria came in view and everyone was looking at her. I mean all eyes on her. I've managed to pull the hot one out of this school but to be honest Eva may be right.

This really didn't feel right but I had to move on either way. I didn't want to wait for Cassidy because I can't just be like this all the time.

We're opposites. Im impatient... I hate having to wait on someone. I know I may sound really mean right now but you can't be compatible with someone so different than you.

Victoria sat next to me and I could tell people were jealous. Really... jealous. I like this. Living with someone beside me that's compatible to me in someway.

"You know what? Fuck it." Eva said as she got her bags and her lunch.

We all watched as she walked to a table where there was a person sitting alone. I knew it was Cassidy cause she always sat there.

I rolled my eyes and laid my head on Victorias shoulder while she talked about how boring school was.

"Hey Anna! Are you going for soccer?" Emmy asked me and I nodded.

"Better get there before coach gets mad at you." She said and we both went down for practice and admissions.

As I was walking I bumped into someone. I was so rushed that I said a quick sorry not even bothering to look and ran after Emmy.

The basketball players were all down in the court. I looked for her but she wasn't there.
I followed Emmy outside to the field where the coach eyed me.

"Shumate! I have to talk to you." Coach Lance said and I sighed.

"Where is Dawson?" She asked me and I shrugged.

"She's not my problem anymore." I muttered under my breath.

"She didn't go to basketball camp. She hasn't shown up for tryouts you wanna explain what the fuck has happened?" She said and I shrugged.

"Maybe she quit." I said.

"Are you two? Not friends anymore?" She asked me.

"I have no idea." I said not wanting to be in this conversation any longer.

"Well when you see her tell her to come to the gym." She said and I nodded.

I got a call from Victoria and what her words told me I panicked.

"Hey! I'm trying out for basketball will you wait for me after?" She asked me as I muttered under my breath.

"Why basketball." I muttered.

"You know I can't shoot a soccer ball for the life of me." She said.

"Kick." I said and scoffed me.

"Yeah yeah whatever. Anyways wish me luck babe!" She said and I just cringed.

"Yeah good luck." I said and threw my phone towards my bag.

"I MADE THE TEAM!" She yelled jumping in my arms.

I looked around to only see Cassidy who was shooting free throws. She looked at me but than turned back letting the basketball out of her free zone and went down in the lockers.

"Aren't you happy?" Victoria said and I looked at her nodding.

"Yep so happy." I said and she frowned.

"You know the captain is quite cute." She said and I looked at her as Cassidy went out of the lockerroom.

"She's the captain?" I asked and she nodded.

"She's co captain the real captain is healing up and will play mid plays." She said and I nodded.

"Oh that's interesting." I mumbled.

"Cmon!" She said taking my hand as she brought me down to the lockeroom.

I found the basketball coach in her office as we passed it. I walked in to see everyone staring at me.

"I need to talk to you." I heard seeing Zoey who grabbed my arm pulling me into a knot her set of lockers.

"Why?" She said raising an eyebrow.

"Why what?" She muttered.

"You know how you told me if I ghosted her she would think it was her fault. Now your doing the same." She said and I shrugged.

"I just want to live my life without having to wait." I said and she shook her head.

"I'll eventually talk to her. She just won't talk to me." I said.

"You know... you try doing that she won't be the same from before." She said.

"Just shut up... alright? I do what I want and it she doesn't like that well she can deal with it." I said and she looked at me with a glare.

"I hope your new girlfriend breaks your heart." She said and I wondered. Why does everyone keep saying that...
