"Please, don't leave me."
The Tianquan's eyes widened at the mere whisper of your voice, she peered down at you with worry, she couldn't help but wonder why you'd mutter such a thing. Ningguang remained silent, ears picking up on the quiet pitter patter of the rain outside the Jade Chamber. Her breath tickled your scalp, as you rested in her arms, crinkling her qipao dress under your weight, whilst repeating 'don't leave, please' like a mantra.
"I never want to go back."
You were yearning for some sleep, your eyes were heavy and half-lidded, struggling to stay awake. The Lady of the Jade Chamber took note of that, judging by the way your breathing pattern changed, muscles softening under her careful touch, and at the same time, whispered sweet nothings into your ear.
You were just an angel. An angel littered with purple bruises and cuts, all over your body. These thoughts you harboured so deeply, they'd stay in your mind, and haunt you. Ningguang's gloved fingers traced over the scars and bruises decorating your skin, her touch light as a feather, sending shivers down your spine.
"I'm here, love. I always will be." Ningguang exhaled with a sigh, beginning to feel the sleep slowly but surely take over. No, she had to stay awake, for you. You were not getting hurt again, not on her watch. Thoughts of what she would do with you after she'd nurse you back to health lingered in her mind, but the Tianquan pushed them away. You were her priority, a special something she needed to treasure and look after.
But she would gladly take down the one individual who wounded you, showing them no mercy at all.
"Thank you... I think I would've been dead if—"
"Please." The Lady hushed you, taking a sip of her tea and savouring the delectable taste. Her piercing crimson orbs eyed you, her look was enough to make someone's knees weak. Ningguang flashed an elegant, yet mysterious smile your way.
"Don't worry about such vile things, my dear Y/N. You are safe here, in my arms."
