The pair had roamed the woods for a few hours. Calissa decided the two should head back after Maisie trips for the tenth time. Not wanting her friend to be in further pain, she helps her to the dorms. Although the pain seems to miraculously fade by the time they reach Calissa's room.As the pair return to the dorm wing, Maisie is practically hopping in excitement. Giving the girl a headache with her motions, Calissa presses her shorter friend for an answer. "Ok what's going on?" she turns to look at the girl in question to see her tripping over apparently nothing. Calissa tightly closes her lips to stop laughing while she gives a hand to her fallen friend.
"Don't laugh at me." Maisie pouts and then remembering her important news she perks up again. "Phinn, Esmeralda's son? He asked me to the coronation. As his date."
Calissa gapes at her. "Didn't you say, and I quote, 'He's an arrogant pig snout.' what the hell changed?"
Maisie blushed and smiled with a sheepish expression. "Well it happened unexpectedly. I guess he just got nicer, I didn't think it was possible but he did. Then a few days ago, out of the blue he asked me. I accepted." Maisie deflates a little seeing the look on Calissa's freckled face, one of disbelief.
Finally Calissa heaves a sigh. "It just seemed like you hated him. You were always complaining about Phinn. Look, don't get me wrong, I'm happy for you. I just find this sudden and weird. But as long as you're happy and safe," she flashes her sister from another mister with a wink with a hidden innuendo. "Then I am too."
Maisie blushes harder and thanks her friend. Calissa then says, "Ok I stink, let's head in now." Both girls let out a loud laugh that fills the corridor. When the brunette walks in she heads for her dresser preparing clothes to change into. Maisie plops down face first on her friend's bed.
Heaving a loud sigh, Maisie says, "I'll just lay here looking pretty." Calissa smiles and lightly rolls her eyes as she walks further towards the bathroom.
"Wait! Have you gotten any new books yet?" Maisie sits up waiting for a response.
"Nope. I'm still waiting for my order. But I still have all the dinosaur comics my dad sends me on the shelf." Calissa sends an annoyed look at her bookshelf while leaning on the bathroom doorway.
"Why don't you just tell him you don't like them?"
"Because. It's his favorite thing to talk about. I don't want to hurt him by telling him I dislike it. My dad's the only parent I get along with. I don't want to hurt our relationship." Calissa says with a pout, then walks into the bathroom, closing the door.
