Freddy was the first thing her eyes noticed in her room later that day.

"Hey Sissy. Is Selina around?" Freddy turns around from the bookshelf now facing Calissa with a comic in his hands.

"Seriously? When are you going to ask her out? You two have been crushing on each other for like a year now. Just do it. Rip off the band aid. What's the worst thing that can happen?"

"She could hear me? Or maybe an asteroid comes hurdling to us from nowhere and I die before I hear a reply? Sounds reasonable to me." Freddy exclaims with wide eyes and dramatic hand gestures.

Calissa rolls her eyes with a huff.

"Not that it's not nice to see you, but what are you doing here?" Calissa asks with a tilted head.

"Relax, I just came to borrow a comic. And if i'm being honest I feel very attacked right now. I might just have to tell dad that you're bullying me." Freddy says with a pout.

"Whatever. Like he'll believe the troublemaker. Now, did you find it?"

"Hmm? Oh yeah." Calissa stares at her brother expectedly. "Oh oh! Ok ok, so you know that parent day coming up? Yeah I just heard from dad. Mom can't make it." Calissa's face falters. She turns away and walks to her vanity seat. "Are you ok? It's not like this hasn't happened before."

"I know, I know." Calissa sighs again, opening and closing her eyes quickly so her little brother can't see her tears. She didn't notice that his face saddens while watching her. "I thought maybe once, just once, she would notice that we need her. Her kids need her. What? She can't pick up a damn phone?! Why can't she stop granting people's wishes for a second and see that all I ever wish for is just a moment of her time?" Calissa sucks in a big breath trying to calm herself as her tears keep falling. Freddy shuffles his feet awkwardly.

"She's always busy. I get it. But that's just the way things are for the good guys. There's always going to be people that need help. And unfortunately family has to take the back seat sometimes. Do you want to spend the day together? We could catch up? We can even get Yaz to tag along? It could be a family day. We haven't had one of those in a while." Freddy asks gently.

Freddy loves his sisters. It's that simple. During their childhood, their mother, The Blue Fairy would often be gone for weeks at a time. So Calissa being the eldest, took it upon herself to make sure her siblings were kept happy. She gave them her love and time as a mother is supposed to, and Freddy understood her need to put them first. But sometimes when Calissa was alone with her thoughts, her mind would drift to her early memories. She can faintly recall a woman with blue sparkly wings she knew to be her mother, but as the years passed Calissa and her little siblings saw less and less of her. And eventually they began to think of her as a stranger. Because that's what she was.

Calissa had raised them, made sure they were happy. And when Blue missed their birthdays and holidays, their eldest sister would hug them tight and tell them how much she loved them until they felt it themselves.
