Paths can be crossed

Next morning, Li Wan made an effort to slip away from Momo's grasp and leave the hotel room before she woke up. Just as he was about to exit, he received a message from Li Chen.

Li Chen: "In 5 minutes."

Li Wan struggled to understand the message and scrolled through their chat history to find its context before hurrying towards the office.

Thirty minutes later, Li Wan arrived at Li Chen's office, encountering no traffic. Upon arrival, he spotted Li Chen standing near the glass window.

Gasping, Li Wan asked, "Can you tell me the reason for your message?"

Li Chen: "I assumed you were already aware of it."

Li Wan: "No, I'm not."

Li Chen: "I thought sleeping in the hotel would help you wake up early."

Li Wan: "The hotel... OK, how did you know?"

Li Chen: "Because I saw you entering the hotel with your past flame."

Li Wan gave Li Chen an incredulous look and said, "Okay, I'm sorry. I ditched our plans and didn't inform you."

Li Chen: "My anger isn't because you were with a girl, but because of your actions. Yiyi almost encountered a problem."

Li Wan: "What do you mean?"

Li Chen explained what happened the previous night.

Li Wan: "Okay, now tell me what you were doing at the hotel."

Li Chen: "I had hoped to spend some time with Yiyi, but I wasn't able to. Oh, I almost forgot. Why didn't you tell me Yiyi was the representative for the deal?"

Li Wan: "I thought it would be a good surprise."

Li Chen: "Okay, I'll let it go this time, but not again. Also, I called you here early because we need to discuss the upcoming projects planned for two months from now."

At the hotel, Yiyi packed her luggage as she had an early morning flight the next day, keeping only the essentials until her departure.

Momo got up from her bed and said, "Sorry, it seems I caused trouble for you last night."

Yiyi: "Why do you think that?"

Momo: "I mean, every time I drink, I end up in some kind of trouble."

Yiyi: "Yeah, that's for sure-getting a guy into your room and pretending to be drunk."

Momo was shocked by Yiyi's response.

Momo: "Pretending? I wasn't pretending."

Yiyi: "You really think I don't know you? You were already sober when you arrived at the hotel, and everything you did after that was an act, like hiding the key cards, slipping the keys into my pants, and letting Li Wan into the room."

Momo: "How did you know all that?"

YiYi: "How many years have I been with you?"

Momo: "But how could you tell?"

YiYi: "Let's get out of here. We need to leave the hotel in 10 minutes to catch the show."

Momo: "Yeah, you're right. Let's go."

Momo had received opera tickets from her mom, so she decided to take Yiyi with her to watch the show. They appeared in front of the opera house in their beautiful outfits, planning to have a blissful day before departing. Momo had arranged everything for their outing that day.

Momo's mom had secured VIP tickets for them, providing the best view of the stage.

During the show, Momo heard someone calling her name. When she turned around, she sighed, "Not again."

Yiyi: "Hi, Li Wan."

Li Wan: "Hi, Yiyi. And I'm sorry for the inconvenience I caused earlier."

Yiyi: "It's okay."

Momo: "What are you doing here?"

Li Wan: "I came to watch the opera. One of our clients booked it for us."

Momo: "Looks like our last day will end up a nightmare."

As the show began, neither of them spoke, simply enjoying the performance.

After the show, Yiyi called her team members to remind them of her flight. Without much delay, Yiyi and Momo returned to the hotel. The boys didn't get much of a chance to speak with them and left the opera house.

The girls returned home, and their routine resumed. Upon returning to China, Yiyi received praise from her company for securing the deal and was promoted to team leader in the new company. Initially surprised by the promotion, as her boss had never shown such appreciation before, she called Momo to share the news, and Momo was thrilled. They planned to meet on the weekend for a small celebration between themselves.

Li Wan returned to China and started living with the Momo family again. However, this time, Momo was not as concerned about his stay, which gradually improved their relationship. The disagreements they had before are now resolved.Li Wan is gradually taking steps toward Momo so they can restart their relationship. He can also see that Momo still has feelings for him.

Momo is currently working under her father and leads her team in one of their companies. She studied fashion design and started from an entry-level position, even though her father owns the company. She kept her true identity a secret until she won an award in a fashion competition. Her brother revealed her identity by tagging her as his sister on social media. Meanwhile, her brother took the CEO position in the construction company without any hardship.

Momo got a call from her father asking her to come to his office to discuss something. She was confused because her father never calls her to his office, even for family matters. She told him she was currently in a client meeting and would join him once she was done. In the meantime, she messaged Yiyi about her father's call and mentioned that she might be late to the restaurant, telling her not to wait at the office.

After seeing Momo's message, Yiyi replied that she also had an office gathering and her boss was taking them to a restaurant. Both of them were annoyed by the sudden change in their plans and wanted to escape from their new obligations.

Yiyi and her team went to a restaurant nearby their office, and their boss ordered food for everyone. While their boss was placing the order, Yiyi's colleagues checked the cost of the food. They noticed that their boss either ordered low-cost food with less quantity or premium food and then asked the employees to split the cost. This time, he ordered premium food along with drinks. Everyone reluctantly went along with his actions, and Yiyi felt bad that her team had to endure this because of her.

During the drinks, Yiyi's manager started boasting about how he developed his team and the company, claiming they could even merge with one of the world's top companies. However, everyone knew that his contribution to this success was minimal. Yiyi's company used to be top-tier, but after the death of the former president, who was unable to manage it, the company faced losses and was now teetering between middle-tier and bankruptcy. After college, Yiyi worked as an architect intern at a startup and gradually transitioned to a full-time role. However, she had to leave the company due to bankruptcy. If it weren't for the former president's kindness in offering her a job when she needed it, she would have left the company long ago. Yiyi was grateful for his kindness but felt indebted to him.

Currently, Yiyi's job is not related to her degree, as she works in marketing, but she would love to work as an architect. Despite there being an architecture department in her company, she was never allowed to join as there were few people in marketing.

Yiyi checked her watch for the time and messaged Momo to update her on her whereabouts. After 10 minutes, she received a reply from Momo saying she was not yet done. Yiyi hoped for an opportunity to leave the restaurant, but her manager was still lingering over the drinks. Yiyi prayed to God not to let everyone suffer because of her.
