The D-Day

Yiyi couldn't sleep; all those painful memories were in front of her eyes. She knew Lichen was still standing in front of her door and was waiting for her to open it. Lichen can't ask Yiyi to open the door.

Earlier that morning

Momo and Yiyi got their key cards for their respective rooms. Yiyi's room was booked by the company, and Momo booked her own room after she got the hotel details from Yiyi. Before entering into their rooms, they said to each other that they would meet again at night as they had their own plans and schedules. Calling her colleague who had come to New York earlier to prepare for the meeting YiYi left the room.

Yiyi came to attend an important collaboration between her company and Maxim, a multinational company. Yiyi, being a designer, needs to show and explain her company's agenda to the opposite company, and she is also head of that collab. Her team is waiting for the opposite team to attend the conference. Except for one person, everyone who was present attended the meeting within the first 5 minutes. A lady stood in front of her and told Yiyi that her boss would attend the call through video as his flight was delayed. Yiyi started her presentation and explained the things to the other members, and she even had a Q & A with other company members to clear up their doubts. The meeting was completed as planned. A lady approached Yiyi and introduced herself as Nicole, Maxim's CEO's secretary. She told Yiyi that her boss liked the proposal and wanted to talk to her directly. Nicole directed Yiyi to her CEO's room. She saw a vast room in front of her and the name plate on the office desk caught her eye. She read the name and thought, "What a simple name for such a high-personality."

She heard someone was opening the door and turned around to find a person entering the office with a poised manner. When she saw that person's clear face, she was shocked to see that person.

:Hi, I'm Alex, CEO of Maxim, and you can call me Li Chen if you want.

YIYI got back into her senses and greeted him.

Yiyi: Hello Alex, I am pleased to meet you and myself, Ava. You can call me Yiyi.

For the next 1 hour, Yiyi behaved like she didn't know Lichen and vice versa.

When she was about to leave, Li Wan entered the room, but she wasn't surprised because wherever Lichen was, Li Wan could appear there too.

Yiyi called her company and told them that she had gotten a deal.

Yiyi gave her thanks to the Maxim team and left the building with her colleagues.

She took the cab and left for the hotel before it got dark. Even though she was seated in the car, her thoughts were still with Li Chen. Lichen's innocent, smiling face appeared in front of her, which made her heart flutter. Yiyi thought, " Come back to your senses."

When Yiyi arrived at the hotel, she found Mr. Ki waiting for her in the lobby. Mr. Ki is a key employee at Maxim and also serves as a liaison between the two companies. But Ki's behaviour is not appreciable.

Yiyi knew that Mr. Ki was trying to flirt with her, but she pushed all his efforts back. She excused herself and left for her room. What Ki and YiYi don't know is that Li Chen was watching them. Li Chen followed Yiyi because he saw her colleagues left to see the city, but YiYi left for the hotel. Li Chen was worried about Yiyi whether she could reach the hotel safely or not.

Li Chen stayed downstairs, but when he saw Li Wan and Momo entering the hotel, he hid himself. At the same time, he saw Mr. Ki was silently following them. Li Chen sensed something is wrong and he followed them too.

Li Chen saw everything happen to Momo, Yi Wan, and Yiyi, so when he was about to help her, he saw Mr. Ki was making his move. Li Chen couldn't be able to resist that and he stormed between them. He knew Yiyi never wanted to see his face, but he wanted to protect her at all costs.

Now:

Li Chen waited outside Yiyi's room, ready to protect her if that jerk showed up again.

YiYi: Get inside.

Li Chen: No problem I was waiting for Li Wan. I saw him getting in and I think he came with Momo.

Yiyi: They are sleeping together in my room.

Li chen: Okay.... What? If they are sleeping together in your room, then whose room is this?

Yiyi: This is Momo's. We couldn't get Momo's room key, so we exchanged our rooms for now.

Li Chen: OK, then I will leave now. If anything is needed, call me.

Yiyi looked into Li Chen's face, and Li Chen understood what she wanted to say. He kept his hand in his pocket and gave his personal card.

Li Chen: "This is my number."

Yiyi: Sure

Li Chen left the room, and Yiyi suddenly started to feel the emptiness not only in the room but also in her heart. Li Chen came back to his house, and he thought about the time he spent with Yiyi after many years.

He then pinged Li Wan and said, "Come to the office by 6AM sharp, if not you will be dead meat."

But Li Wan didn't see the message because he had fallen asleep a long time ago and Momo was in his arms.

When Li Chen was about to go to bed, he received a message that said, "Thanks for the help and good night." At first, he wasn't able to get the message from whom he got it, but suddenly jumped from his bed, took his jacket, and took a slip out of his pocket. The number on the slip is the same as the number on the phone, and the phone belongs to YiYi.

Li Chen's happiness knew no bounds, and he said to himself, "I will win you back."

"I don't want it to repeat and I don't want that pain back," said Yiyi to herself.

At midnight, Li Wan woke up and found himself in bed with Momo.

Li Wan: When did I get into the bed ?

Before he got up, Momo secured her hand around Li Wan's.

And the secret is that Momo never got drunk. All she did was an act to see how Li Wan would react.

Will he stay with her or will he leave her in her room? She wanted an answer to that question,

She got the answer, but she didn't get the clear one because of their past.

So, what did the past, present, and future have in store for them?
