first kiss

~third pov~

aloha and army are spending their saturday night at a quiet cafe. they chat about common things over a cup of coffee and light snacks. they trade smiles, laughter and many 'i love yous' back and forth. before they knew it, it was getting late. aloha offered to take army back to his place, in which he accepted.

~aloha pov~

me and army were walking back to his place since it started to get dark. it sucks to walk back alone in the night. i would stay at his house but his teammates are home and so are mine! it'd be so weird to talk to his members...

our walk was pretty quiet. we didn't say much but i enjoyed his company. we held hands the entire time and stayed close to each other.

we arrive at his place, its modern but boring. could really use some pizzaz, like plants or even a color that pops! it's pretty big for only four people. it's the perfect size for parties though. if only!

"alright, aloha, i'll see you tomorrow," army let's go of my hand and pulls out his keys. "tomorrow? what are we doing?" he sighs and unlocks the door. "s4 meeting at 11, please don't forget."

s4 meetings are boring but i go for army and occasionally the candy skull brings. i usually fall asleep though. i nod at him and watch him go inside.

after that, i start walking home. it isn't far from armys house but it's always a lonely walk back. i go to his house a lot, even uninvited, but he doesn't seem to mind it.

soon enough, i get to my own house. through the window, i see diver and octo dancing to some music. i stare around at my own house and notice how small it is compared to armys. atleast my house looks livelier, his looks like a photo from the 1900's!

i knock on the door, waiting for one of my friends to open up. diver let's me in and looks at me with a shit eating grin.

"so? did you do it?" octo lowers the music and walks up besides him. she seems to have the same expression as diver.

"do what? what are you thinkin—OH DAMNIT!" i softly hit my head. i didn't kiss army!!

"with that tone, im guessin' you didn't," divers smile went away and sighed. "pfft, i told you! now for my money~" she placed a hand out towards diver. he wagged his finger. "i have til midnight!"

"did you guys make a bet on me kissing army?" i scoffed at these guys. "you see him so many times yet never kiss! you say you will but never do!" octo placed her hands on her hips.

"im startin' to think your getting scared.." diver chuckled. i swear, i wanted to bring up every-time he pussyed out of talking to a girl. "whatever. next time i see him, i'll do it. mark my words!"

diver snickers. "oh, really? might wanna answer the door then, loverboy~" and just like that, there was a knock at the door.

admittedly, i kinda hoped it wasn't army. i've kissed plenty of girls in my lifetime but a guy? forget about it.

i walked over to the door and opened it. could you guess who it was? oh geez, i couldn't. it was army. not that i wasn't excited to see him, but now i had to kiss him!

"o-oh heya, army~" i heard some snickering behind me, not like it was unexpected. he hands me back my phone, which i totally forgot i had given to him.

"don't forget to charge it. and again, try to be on time for the meeting." i nod and we both say goodnight.

as he's turning to leave, i try to make up my mind. do i really want to do it here rushed? i do want to just give him a smoocharoo but why is it so hard now?!

"wait, army!" he faces me and i place my hand on his soft face.

i bring his face to mine slowly. i lean in and close my eyes. "what are you..."

i pull away slowly and look at him. he's a blushing mess! to be honestly, i never thought his lips would be so soft and gentle.

he stuttered to say something like goodnight or goodbye but he ended up just wavin' and leaving. i giggled at his reaction. i should do this more often!

i closed the door and turn to face a gasping octo and a happy diver. "i take SquidPay, CoinApp, even in bills..." octo hands him a handful of bills sighing but smiling.

comes out strawhat from the dark hallway in our house. she looked like she just got up! "could you guys..." she yawned, "like, keep it down a bit? long day...too much turf..." she yawned again as she blinked slowly at us.

"sorry, strawhat! we'll be quieter next time," octo spoke softer than before. she went back to her room slumping slowly. i could hear her slam the door shut.

the room is quiet for a bit, only for a few seconds though. "we should probably sleep too. we have one of our bigger parties tomorrow." diver stretched and looked over to octo.

"that's true...we have to get up early to set everything up and test equipment," she sighs and rubs her eyes. "guess we'll all sleep. i have s4 meeting tomorrow and i can't miss it for anythin' "

i immediately regretted even bringing up the meeting. the two teased me about what happened tonight all the way to my room. guess their tiredness went away quick.

i got to my room and said my good nights to the two. i laid on my bed with my clothes on still, thinking back to everything that happened before tonight.

only now do i realized my many failed attempts of trying to kiss army. but, maybe i'm thinking too deep about it.

i grab my phone out from my pocket and set my alarm for tomorrow morning. i change out of my regular wear and put on my comfy pjs.

i just know there'll be more moments like this to come, hopefully more romantic and a little less rushed.
