Scene 3 (Part 2): On Route To Cheer Camp

EXT. ARRIVING AT SCHOOL - MORNING

Amethyst and Valentina have arrived at school. Valentina beeps the horn at her teammates who are loading stuff under the bus. Valentina pulls into the parking spot beside Roman's truck. She beeps the horn at him as he is getting something from his backseat.

Roman closes the door, then sets the alarm on his truck. Amethyst and Valentina are getting out of the car.

ROMAN
Today is the day.

The girls are getting their luggage.

AMETHYST
The anticipation was real.

ROMAN
You need some help carrying your bags?

AMETHYST
You don't mind?

ROMAN
Not at all.

AMETHYST

Amethyst hands her cheerbag over to Roman.

Such a gentleman.

VALENTINA
Such a gentleman, indeed.

Amethyst, Valentina, and Roman continue their way to their bus. More teammates begin arriving as others are either getting onto the bus or putting their stuff under it.

AMETHYST

Amethyst is doing roll call to make sure all team members are on the bus.

Tazia?

ZACHARY

Zachary comes out of the bus restroom.

AMETHYST

Amethyst signs off on a clipboard.

Good. Everyone is accounted for.

She hands the clipboard to the bus driver.

Listen up. Before we hit the road, I would like to say a little prayer, if you don't mind. Everyone bow your heads.

Everyone bows their head and closes their eyes.

AMETHYST

Amethyst prays.

Dear cheer Gods, I ask that you watch over us as we make a safe travel to cheer camp. With it being our last year at Camp Cheer-phoria before graduating, give of the strength and the courage needed in hopes of winning the competition. Amen.

CHEETAHS CHEERLEADERS
Amen!

The bus starts to move.

AMETHYST

Amethyst sits in the seat beside Valentina. She sees that Valentina is cozied up in a Hello Kitty blanket, sipping out of a coffee cup.

Whatcha sippin' on?

VALENTINA
Arroz con leche.

Valentina grabs the coffee cup sitting to her left side, then hands it to Amethyst.

Thanks to Roman and he got you something too.

AMETHYST
He is a sweetheart.

Amethyst sniffs her drink.

Mmmm, Peppermint cappuccino.

Amethyst takes a sip.

Mmmm, so soothing.

Amethyst covers her legs with her Princess and the Frog blanket before grabbing her lunchbag. She takes out a Ziploc bag containing breakfast burritos. She hands one of them to Valentina.

Don't drink too much of that and get full.

VALENTINA

Valentina eyes light up when she shes Amethyst handing her the burrito. She sets her cappuccino aside.

Ay, I almost forgot about those.

Valentina takes out a bottle of Tapitio sauce from her lunchbag.

What did Beyonce say?

Amethyst hands Valentina her burrito.

VALENTINA

Valentina bites her burrito. She does a shoulder shake.

I think I'm 'bout to have a foodie-gasm. Your dad did the damn thang. Muy bueno.

Valentina sets her burrito aside to turn on her Airpods. The home screen on her phone is a picture of Roman Reigns. She clicks on the Spotify app.

Amethyst grabs her Beats By Dre headphones from her small cheer backpack. She hooks the headphones to her MP3 player. She selects the song, "My Love" by Leigh-Anne.

As "My Love" by Leigh-Anne begins playing in the background, the scene comes to an end with the Cheetahs cheerleaders either eating, listening to music, having conversations with each other, or going to sleep.
