~Morta's POV~

~Three Years Later~

"Target eliminated," I spoke into the communications system.

"Okay, head back home, I'll be waiting at the front gate for you," Ash spoke into my earpiece.

"Okie Dokie, love you," I whispered and headed back into the treeline.

I was on a mission to kill a monster that had been guarding the borders of the Darklands, preventing our people from trade. We don't just live in solitude, we do go out from time to time. Other than that, Ash and I are in a three-year-strong relationship. Ever since that night of my coronation, well, yeah, relationship. I mean, we rule the kingdom together and we are a front in this battle together, so why not? Besides, I know that he would never leave me, and I will never leave him. Right now, I was very close to Alfhiem, surprisingly. I must have wandered here while I was in my musings. A voice seemed to be coming from my right, so I turned to follow it and maybe overhear what they were saying.

"- if we position you here, Celestial and I can wait here for an ambush. Andromeda, you can scout and make sure no one unwanted falls into the trap. Is that okay with everyone?" I knew that voice, but it sounded different.

"Helios, what if she doesn't fall for the trap?" a different voice said, and I recognized that one too.

I could only assume that those voices belonged to Prince Helios and his friends. Were they seriously trying to lure me into a trap? Those idiots, they can't catch me. Especially Helios, that traitor.

"Ash, I might be a little late," I whispered into the earpiece.

"Why? What are you going to do?" he scolded me, probably because he knows that I'm up to something dangerous.

"Spy on some old friends," I said cryptically.

"You're really impossible sometimes, you know? Do you want me to come with you?" he sounds super concerned as he speaks, I can almost see him furrowing his brows.

"You know what, why don't you tag along this time? I'm sure you'll love who I'm spying on," I whisper, careful not to let Helios or the other here.

"Okay, I'm coming via shadow travel. Just wait, I'll be there in a second," he says into my earpiece and cuts the connection.

I turn mine off as well and go deeper into the woods so in case Ash does something stupid and falls from a tree, he doesn't alert Helios and the others. It's happened before and it can happen again.

"Hey," Ash says quietly from beside me.

"You managed not to fall from a tree this time, congratulations," I say sarcastically.

"Oh, that was one time! Anyway, who are we stalking?" he asks as we creep closer to Helios.

When we arrive, we hide in the tree line and behind some bushes so Helios doesn't spot us. Ash thankfully came prepared and put his cloak on before he left the castle, which is nice. Through his hood, I can only see his lips and chin, which are turned in a sneer when he spots Helios, Celestial, Andromeda, and Vix around a makeshift outpost overlooking a map of the woods.

"The gual of that Prince to come into my woods after what he did-," Ash trails off while probably thinking of many profanities to call Helios.

"Do you think we can catch her this time?" Andromeda asks Helios while looking up from the map.

"I sure do hope so," Helios mutters.

"They're hunting you?" Ash whispers angrily.

"Yeah," I say nonchalantly.
