Summerton High (Zeke Thompson: Minute Men)

Homecoming

Around 2:30 I hear a knock on the door, it's Derek, he came to get ready with me. I open the door, he has his outfit in a nice clothing cover with a hanger and a bag of stuff for his hair, the theme is the 50s. I smile, "Hi Derek." He smiles and walks in, kissing my cheek, "Hi pretty lady." I close the door, "We can just go up to my room, no one is home." He smirks but I never meant it like that.

I do my hair in a cute 50s rockabilly updo for long, Derek is doing his hair, we make eye contact in the mirror and smile, "You look good!" Derek hypes me up, I blush a little, "Your outfit looks good too!" He's wearing a blue varsity sweater with a white shirt under, black converse and dark jeans that are cuffed. I have a cute rockabilly style dress that matches Derek's blue sweater.

We finish getting ready, he's actually admiring me the whole time, it makes me happy.

We finally get to the dance and he immediately ditched me for his friends, I roll my eyes and sit down at a table, I look over and see Zeke flexing his muscles for those stupid girls. I'm quickly saved by Virgil and Stephanie, "Sadie!" Virgil stands in my view of Zeke on purpose, I smile up at them, "Hey." Stephanie sits down, "Are you okay?" She holds my hand, I shrug.

Derek walks over and talks quickly to Virgil, Stephanie and I both glare at him, she notices and chuckles at me, "You only went with him to make Zeke jealous right?" She whispers to me, I nod, "Yes!" She laughs hard

Soon after the winners of homecoming king and queen are announced, it's Virgil and Stephanie, I cheer loud for them. I feel Zeke's stare as I sit back down, I've been by myself basically the whole night, way to make him jealous. He's been getting touched on all over by those girls, it makes me sick.

"Fight!" I hear get screamed, I don't notice what happens but I see Zeke stand up quickly with his hands up, he had to of been eating, and rush out of the gym with everyone else, I grab napkins just incase he needs them and rush after him.

"Sadie! Where's Virgil?" Charlie runs up to me with Janette, "I don't know, Zeke just rushed out maybe he knows." We push past the crowd and get to Zeke. In the front of this crowd are Derek and Virgil, then comes Tolkan, "Well well well, looks like the beginnings of a fracas!" He says, "Fracas?" They question, "A fight!" Zeke is angry with his hands still held away from his body, I grab his wrist and wipe his fingers. His little girlfriends make a stupid noise, I ignore.

Quickly after the ground shakes, Zeke grabs me and holds me close, "That's what I was talking about!" Charlie starts then the man who interrogated us shows up, "Everybody freeze! FBI!"

The boys and I lead the FBI and Tolkan down to room 77, we turn the machine on and the men flood the room, analyzing, testing, panicking. "We only have a few hours to save the planet." Charlie says as he's looking at his computer, "I'll shut this down myself, I caused this." Virgil says, "Zeke, Sadie, and Charlie had nothing to do with it." Charlie looks offended, "I built it, besides I have to come with you." "I'm coming too!" Zeke chimes in, "Me too." I say, "No Sadie. No. It's too dangerous." Zeke panics. "Please. I can't-" I begin but never finish, "Never mind."

I walk away from the chaos and begin to write a letter. As soon as I hear the boys start to leave the room, I scribble it finished and run after them.

The boys are walking down the hall full of everyone cheering, as soon as I get to Zeke his fan girls go to hug him, "Move." I push both of them out of the way, "Zeke, baby, please." Tears fill my eyes, he stops walking and lets the other boys go slowly, "Sadie, what?" He gets serious and looks into my eyes, "You can't go without me, it's so risky I can't lose you. I'm sorry for us arguing, Zeke I can't lose you." Tears fall, he wipes them as his eyes get glossy. "It's my fault, I shouldn't of talk to them, I don't know what got into me, you're all I've ever wanted Sadie Lukas. I love you."

Im stunned, "I love you Zeke Thompson." He grabs my face and passionately kisses me in front of everyone, "I'll come back for you, gorgeous. I promise." He's still holding my face, I hand him the letter I wrote, "Give me this when you see me again." I kiss him one more time before letting him go.

He catches up with the boys, Janette kissed Charlie and now Virgil is talking to Stephanie. Zeke puts the note in his pocket then zips it up, he turns back to me, "Please come back to me." I mouth to him, I'm bawling at this point, he wipes his eyes and nods.

The police lift the tape and let the boys go through to the field, there's a big vortex hole in the ground. They pull their goggles down and run towards it.
