Chapter 1: Black Phoenix

A week passed since the news of the fallen Guardian had reached every town across Novis, spreading the word of the doubts about the Sacred Guardians' strength, along with the Novians beginning to question them, and the fact if they can protect and keep them safe after all. The remaining 11 Sacred Guardians did their best to address the concerns that were circling in the rumors, sending out daily broadcasts to reassure the people and remind them that they were in the hands of the elite mages' protection.

The loss of the 10th Guardian was a major setback in the Asquith Faction's military strength, slowly forcing them to decide to address the vacant spot of the 10th Seat, but in times of war, the seat cannot be replaced until it's over. However, nothing was said against enlisting someone's help for the time being. As crazy as it sounds, a decision was made to try and persuade a certain Lost Guardian to assist with the ongoing rebellion war. The Council of Valhalla showed signs of disapproval, but the First Guardian went on with the plan set in mind.

Within the vast lands of Novis, there was a massive magic facility that housed the worst criminals and dark guild members within it. For years it has remained the most guarded facility across Novis, boasting an unbreakable magic prison for a long while now.

"So, this is the one?" The 3rd Representative, Yurok Leonhart said after taking off the manifested mask, revealing his augmented features onto his face. His creation made from Thouwai Michani parts floated and hovered above the two.

"Mhm. The others are waiting for us there, we have been patient for so many years now." The other person said, staring off into the distance through his manifested masks that portrayed the characteristics of loneliness. The codename "Ash" was engraved onto the Manifested Mask. For years, Ash has managed to lay low until the incident on a fateful day only dreaming of the dark guild, Black Phoenix's release.

"Midnight Monomiya, you may lie to yourself about serving the First Guardian and risking your life for the sake of peace. But you cannot escape from your sins, let alone come to terms with your demon." The mysterious cloaked man said before tossing over anti-magic explosives and letting them detonate in the back alley of the Asquith City. By the time the explosions cleared up, the mysterious person was already gone.

He escaped with the intent to report back to the outcasts, using the certain mage's spatial magic to relocate himself to safety. Once in the safety of Nexus' hideout, the mysterious person removed his hood and revealed himself as the young elf with the manifested mask embedded in his face. "All set. Everything should be in motion, for now, Yurok." He added, taking a deep breath to relax.

"Good. Now we'll have to wait for their signal. Once we push them back far enough, we'll proceed with our next step to free your comrades while they entertain the Guardians." Yurok added while opening a hologram map scale. It featured every stronghold location across Novis. It showed every single one was now in their control, having wiped all Asquith soldiers guarding them.

"So, the Black Phoenix is held there huh? You'll all be free soon..." He stood up, following right behind the 3rd Representative who signaled for him to follow.

Together they continued to march towards the infamous Magic Facility taking their sweet time. Nothing would ever get in their way for long as they were together as a duo, and they were about to find out why soon.

Within the first levels of the Magic Facility, a group of Asquith Mages was patrolling along with the Asquith Prison Guards. They were taking turns watching over the sections and made sure not to have any physical contact with the prisoners, as doing so will result in being bribed or anything of the sort. If anyone was suspected of being bribed, they would undergo punishments and trials where they must prove themselves to the Prison Guards, or better yet the Warden of the Infamous Magic Facility.
