"Esther! Mabuti nakaabot ka!" bungad ni Chloe nang makarating ako sa isang klase na muntikan ko nang hindi mapasukan.

Agad akong naupo sa tabi niya, hingal at pinagpapawisan dahil sa pagtakbo.

Kanina pa kami nakauwi pero dahil sa traffic pagpasok ng Manila medyo natagalan kami ni Lucius.

Nang makauwi nga ako ay wala pareho sila Mom at Dad. Looks like they didn't notice my absence in our house. Hindi ko alam kung mas mabuti iyon o hindi. There is a part of me that wants to get scolded for not telling them where I went to because they were worried.

Nang dumating ang prof namin agad ko nang inalis sa isipan ko bagay na iyon. I focused and I'm in a light mood because of the short vacation with Lucius. Ilang beses ko ring nakita at nakasalubong si Lucius at buong pagkikita namin ay mag-isa siya o hindi kaya ay kasama lang ang mga kaibigan. Walang ibang babaeng nasa mga bisig niya gaya noon.

Matapos ang huling klase ko, nakauwi na si Chloe kaya nang sumulpot  si Lucius matapos ay hindi na ako nagulat.

He smiled and tried to get my bag pero hindi ko siya hinayaan. I don't want us to be seen like that. "Let's eat outside?" he asked.

Pansin ko ang mga mapanuring mga mata mula sa mga schoolmates namin. Simple lang akong ngumiti. "In the car park," I said.

Tumango si Lucius, mukhang alam na ang dahilan ko. Tumuloy na ako sa comfort room bago pumunta sa car park at hinanap ang sasakyan niya. Nang matanaw ko ay hindi agad ako tumuloy sa kadahilanang naroon siya at may kasama.

He's talking to a girl with a popular girl in our university. I just lean on the wall and watch them until the girl initiates the kiss. I still stood watching them kissing, and I expected Lucius to respond. And he did.

Should I just leave? They might decide to bring it to the next level.

Then a phone suddenly rings and unfortunately it was my phone. Agad naagaw ang atensyon nila at napunta sa akin. Gulat si Lucius nang namataan ako.

Agad kong sinagot ang tawag ni Mom at nagsimulang maglakad palayo.

"Hey, Esther. Come home early, and we're leaving this house."

My brows furrowed and start getting chills all over my body. I know why but I want to hear it.

"W-Why?"

"We're getting annulled, remember?"

I bit my lips and I couldn't hear her properly like I'm under the water. She said it like it's nothing. Like it doesn't affect me or her!

It's not like I don't want them to get annulled. They have to separate in this kind of situation. But they could have done better for me, right? If they want to keep the family that they made together, they could be better parents, wife, and husband.

Shit.

Nagmamadali akong lumabas ng car park para agad na makauwi pero bigla na lang may humila sa akin. Marahas niya akong hinarap sa kanya.

"Esther… I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. Don't… Uhmm… don't stay away from me, please."

Tears fell down my cheek. "What?" I asked, lost in thoughts bearing this heaviness in my chest.

"You saw me... kissing her."

"I-I did. I… I don't care." My chest felt cold. "I need to go."

"Really?" bumitaw si Lucius mula sa pagkakahawak sa mga braso ko. He took a step back. "Why are you crying?"
