I felt my own blood leaving my body as I dragged myself away and across towards the operating table. My hand barely able to reach for the thread and needle that laid on top. The stab would being lethal if I wasn't quick and careful enough. Sewing the wound shut was my only chance to help stop the bleeding. Then...I'll grab my keys and leave before the cops arrive. I have my car out back. I just need to be quick.

Quick like a bunny
Quick like a bunny
Quick like a bunny

The needle pricked into my fingers as I concentrated on the movements, my eyes staying glued to the ceiling above me. The grunting of the man that came in here trying to ask me too many questions, was still close enough to be just within earshot. Though the pounding and ringing in my ears made me somewhat deafened to this. My vision began to blur and it wasn't until I felt the end of my wound that I flipped my body over to start my trail towards the back door. My elbows dragging the other half of myself, still leaving a path of blood behind as I did so.
I knew it was going to happen.

I was going to die

No.

At least not now. It was too soon and I was too young. I never did anything wrong and didn't deserve to die. I only helped those that needed to be who they knew they were. Have what they wanted. I did things that no one else was brave enough to do. Even if it was illegal, it was worth making everyone happy. They can't stop me. Not now. Not  ever.

I finally gained enough strength to pull myself up using the edge of the table near the back door. My hand snatched the car keys immediately and pushed the metal door with all of my bodyweight leaning onto it. The gusting wind and the bright moonlight were the only things keeping my feet moving forward. Stumbling and tripping once or twice, I had eventually made it to my car. Police sirens already approaching my warehouse as I forced myself into the driver's seat.
