When the world had stilled around the twins, they found themselves in Professor Dumbledore's office. Everything was as it should be-  Fawkes was trilling softly in his sleep, the objects on the shelves were blinking and jingling and Professor Snape was wearing his trademark scowl.

"Well," said the headmaster, who was standing beside the golden time globe, "I hope you had a good journey back."

Azalea nervously bit her lip. "We're really sorry, sir," she said tiredly, "but we didn't touch that- thing. It just activated on its own."

Dumbledore lifted a hand to calm her. "You two are not to blame," he said gently, "the time globe sometimes acts a little strange and you two were the unfortunate ones who experienced the consequences."

Snape stepped away from the twins and crossed his arms. "There is still the matter of why I sent you here in the first place." His eyes narrowed.

Bollocks, thought Periwinkle tiredly, I was hoping he'd forgotten the swapping.

Me too, replied Azalea. At the moment, she didn't even care anymore. She just wanted to sleep.

It was funny how time travel could make detention sound so- insignificant. She just doubted Snape would see it that way.

"Professor McGonagall will be the ones to determine your punishment," said the headmaster and let his hand hover above the golden globe. The symbols rearranged themselves in a different pattern. He turned to face the twins.
"And I advise you to no longer switch places during detention."

The girls nodded hastily. Snape looked angry, but he couldn't really say anything against Dumbledore's decision.

"You may return to your dorms," said Professor Dumbledore and approached his desk, "I assume you have some sleep to catch up on."

"Thank you, sir," said Periwinkle quietly and Azalea nodded. Before they headed out of the room, they looked at McGonagall and Snape, and Azalea said, "Thank you for getting us."

Professor McGonagall nodded. "You are welcome. Come to my office tomorrow before class and we'll discuss your punishment."

"Yes, professor," the twins mumbled and then quickly hurried out before things could get worse. The door clicked shut behind them.

Professor McGonagall let out a groan. "Honestly, they're getting close to beating the Weasley twins in terms of causing trouble."

"How exactly did the time globe get activated?" said Professor Snape suspiciously. "You know just as well as I do that it does not 'act a little strange' from time to time."

"Yes, that is bothering me at present," said Professor Dumbledore quietly. "According to the symbols on the globe, someone activated it with a spell. Yet neither Periwinkle not Azalea would be capable of doing so."

Professor McGonagall narrowed her eyes. "The Potters said no one else was here when it happened."

"No one besides them," confirmed Professor Dumbledore, "I checked."

Professor Snape paced back and forth, his arms crossed behind his back. Then he abruptly stopped. "Albus," he said and turned around, "Do you remember when we spoke last year about why the Potters' eyes could be glowing?"

"Yes," nodded the headmaster, "But we came to the conclusion that it could not have been caused by a demonic possession."

"Demonic possession?" repeated Professor McGonagall and looked back and forth between the two wizards. "I thought that caused the host to have glowing eyes in red or black."
