TW: (Fear of lightning, lightning, thunder, anxiety/ panic)
I answered the phone call with Wanda still on my back. "Y/n help I- it I." I couldnt hear what Nat was saying over her crying and it made me panic. "Baby breathe. I need you to calm down and tell me what's wrong okay, breathe in and out, good job." I heard a voice in the background and soon heard Tony's voice down the phone. "Someone may have sparked a debate with Thor about whether poptarts were the best breakfast and he got a little mad. Long story short he started a whole ass storm outside and left so now the kid is crying because she doesn't like it." I sighed. "I'll be right there can you put Nat back on?" I paused for a moment before heading her sniffles down the phone.
"Honey I'm like five minutes away can you be a brave girl and wait for me?" I heard another whimper. "It's getting big, y/n I no like it." My heart hurt hearing her cry like that. What is it about those siblings being complete morons?
"I know baby, why don't you go find Ted and blankie and go hide in my bed and I will come and find you?" I heard Nat's footsteps echo against the floor so I assumed she listened. "Alright baby I have to go because I can't be on my phone and drive. But I love you and it's going to be okay." I heard Wanda cough walking to the drivers side. "I'll drive." I threw her the keys with a smile and she winked at me before getting in.
We sped down the street as I desperately tried to keep Nat calm even though I knew she would be okay until I held her. We made it back in like three minutes thanks to wanda's impeccable driving. "Alright you get Nat I'll deal with the rest." I nodded running to go get Nat.
"Mada!" She shouted when I opened the door I didn't really know what that meant but I was too focused on her to pay much attention. "Hey baby, come here." I stopped her up and rocked her slowly. "Scawy." She mumbled, hiding in my neck. "I know but I've got you and you're safe." When another lightning struck Nat let out another cry. "Shh Shh it's okay it can't get you." I carried on swaying with her feeling her tense up when another strike happened.
Wanda POV
"Stark is there nothing you can do about the storm?" Wanda asked everyone could hear Nat's cries but Wanda heard it louder because of her powers. She hated hearing her so upset. "No what do I look like a fucking weather man? I'm just a genius." His face lit up. "I'm a genius." He threw his hands up in the air. I raised my eyebrow encouraging him to explain. "Well when you were off fighting bad guys that one time, I had a hangover. It was so loud until I realised sound proofing." He said using his hands to emphasise as if it was something magical. "It works both ways look. Jarvis activate hangover procedure code silence." Soon the whole tower went quiet, Nat's cries stopped the thunder stopped. Everything stopped.
I figured Nat would be tired, and probably relatively little so I made her some warm milk in a sippy or bottle in case she was thirsty and carried it to y/n's room. I knocked twice before the door opened. Y/n was holding a sleepy, yet slightly calmer Nat. "Baba?" Nat asked reaching for her bottle. "Yes Nat, I made you a baba." Nat smiled. "Tanks." I gave the bottle to y/n so they could feed Nat. We all sat on y/n's bed. Nat on y/n's lap and me next to them.
After a few minutes I noticed Nat was almost asleep. "Go sleepies baby, I'll be here when you wake up I promise." Nat didn't close her eyes, still fighting sleep. "Hey Natasha? You know what my mama used to do when I was scared?" Nat shook her head. "She used to sing me a special song." Nat smiled. "Wands sing." I nodded. "Okay sweetie." I started to sing a sokovian song and she soon fell asleep. Me and y/n looked down at Nat for a while until we fell asleep ourselves, my head against y/n's shoulder and our fingers interlocked.
I'm sorry this ones short but it felt like too cute of an ending to add more.
