A Tangled Life

Chapter 1: The Beginning

[Our story begins with a curious event that had occurred centuries ago. A long time ago, a drop of sunlight fell from the skies and it grew a magical golden glowing flower

that could heal others with a special song. Centuries passed and the wonderful kingdom of Corona had grown. In the kingdom there lived a special man, he was an inventor, a scientist, and his name was Demanitus. He was known as Lord Demanitus, he was a very kind, very humble, and very intelligent man who everyone in the kingdom respected and loved. Lord Demanitus was constantly battling against an evil demon named Zhan Tiri, who was once his ally, and her servants. When Zhan Tiri made a spell to destroy Corona through a blizzard and storm, he used a mixture of magic and science to build a machine deep within the mountains of the kingdom now known as Corona to not only stop the blizzard and storm but also to defeat Zhan Tiri. He had sent her to a realm called The Lost Realm. The years passed and throughout the years, Lord Demanitus dedicated his entire life protecting Corona from many evil spirits trapping them in the chamber of the machine. The story continues with a beautiful baby boy with soft brown hair, hazel brown eyes, and a charming smile wrapped up in a blue blanket

left outside the steps of an orphanage in the kingdom of Equis by a young maid. The weather was cold, gloomy, and wet due to the most recent thunderstorm that had just occurred. The young woman left a card on top of the baby and banged on the door until she heard footsteps. Before the doors opened, she ran away before anyone could see her. Behind the doors stood an older woman, she looked around but saw no one, she looked down and gasped as she saw the young baby. She took him in her arms, took the note, and read it]

[Little Eugene was well taken care of in that orphanage, surrounded by other babies and kids. As a young boy, he started reading the books, The Adventures of Flynnigan Rider, at only six years old, and granted they were hard books to read because of the vocabulary. He found them in the library of the orphanage one day and just couldn't stop reading them. There were nine books in total. First, it was Legend of the Rider, Tales of the Rider, Rider Tales, Rider, Flynnigan, Flynnigan Rider, Flynnigan Again, Flynn Rider and The Lost Treasure of Scotia, and Flynn Rider. He loved those books and would constantly reread them. The orphanage was not very big on resources, so the kids didn't get gifts very often because the orphanage couldn't afford them. They had just enough food for everyone, but at a very limited amount. Eugene would read the books of Flynnigan Rider to the younger kids at the orphanage. As he was growing up, he became best friends with another young boy named Arnwaldo Schnitz. Both Eugene and Arnwaldo started pickpocketing from strangers in the marketplace at a young age and they got better at it every day. It started as snacks and food but then it changed to money. Eugene had even gotten his hands on a pack of marked playing cards, loaded dice, and a double-headed gold coin]

[The queen of Corona was a kind and loving woman named Arianna. She was the middle child of three children, she had an older brother named Alessandro and a younger sister named Willow. They were all from the kingdom of Seahaven, Italy. She had fallen in love with the prince of Corona whose name was Frederic. Eventually, they got married and Arianna had gone to his kingdom as it was the tradition when a princess got married. A few months later, her older brother had gotten married to the love of his life, a local girl named Isabella who everyone loved. The years passed and Queen Arianna ended up pregnant, which not only made them very happy but also made their people and Arianna's family happy too. However, she wasn't the only one who was pregnant, her sister-in-law was also pregnant, but she was five months ahead of her, so she would end up giving birth in January. Eventually, she gave birth to a beautiful baby boy with black hair and charming blue eyes. Queen Arianna had gotten deathly ill, and the people started to look for the magical flower, so she could be healed. Eventually, the guards found it and brought it back to the castle. The magic of the golden flower healed the queen and she was saved. She gave birth to a beautiful baby girl with beautiful golden hair, gorgeous big green eyes, and a sweet smile

on May 12th. The queen carried the baby and that evening the King and Queen went out to the balcony of the palace to introduce their precious baby girl to their people]

King Frederic: Thank you all for being here with us to celebrate the joyous event of not only the saving of the love of my life, Queen Arianna, but also the birth of our precious child
Queen Arianna: Her name is Rapunzel, named after the flower that saved us both
King Frederick: To celebrate this momentous occasion, we will launch a flying lantern
[The king lit the bottom of the lantern with a candle and both he and the queen sent it into the sky

However, they didn't see a particular person wearing a long cloak in the crowd paying very close attention to them and their baby. Unfortunately, that joyful moment ended a few hours later. A horrible woman named Gothel had snuck into the castle from the window and kidnapped the baby. The same mysterious woman who was at the celebration wearing that same long cloak. The guards went after her through the forest, but Gothel had escaped their grasp with the baby princess, and she had gone deep within the forest]

Gothel's POV
I don't feel any amount of remorse for kidnapping the princess, nor will I ever feel any. They stole my valuable, magical, and healing golden flower, so I'm taking what's most important to them, their precious baby girl. She's my new magical flower and she'll keep me young and beautiful just as the flower did. I am determined to keep her hidden forever and I know just the place where we can go
