Kagome's Odd Dream

     I'm laying on a cold tile floor. Dungeon floor. I sit up immediately looking around.

     Oh, God. I'm back in Naraku's dungeon! My breathing comes rapidly, before remembering I am more powerful than him. I calm down and force myself to meditate. I come to when I hear an evil chuckling. I turn around and see Naraku standing there, smiling evilly.

     "Naraku! What happened? I thought we had a-" I stop short and look at him. He looks just like he did the night he took me. "What is going on?" I whisper to myself. "Was it all a dream?" Naraku steps towards me.

     "Now, you're mine." I gasp in horror and wait to be killed. There's a sudden flash of red and white and, when I look over, InuYasha is on top of Naraku. My eyes widen. I must've been asleep this whole time!

     "InuYasha!" I yell smiling. InuYasha turns around and looks at me relieved.

     "Kagome, are you alright?" I nod my head and he massacres Naraku. Right before InuYasha can deliver the final blow, Naraku vanishes.

     "InuYasha? Is that really you?" He smiles and nods. I run and grab onto his haori. "I thought you weren't going to come!" He wraps his arms around me and strokes my hair.

     "I always come for you in the end... don't I?" I nod my head smiling.

     "I just had the most horrible dream! You were with Kikyo and Naraku took me but you never came and then I hated you and... oh God, it was awful!"

     "It's okay. I'm here... were you really mad at me?" I look at him puzzled.

     "What do you mean?"

     "Well, were you actually mad, or were you just upset that you weren't mad? Like, did you still like me a little?" I think back to my dream-self's thoughts and nod slowly.

     "Yes, I think so. It just made me so upset that you chose her over me. I thought I had to be mad and angry with you." InuYasha smiles and looks relieved. "Why?"

     "No reason. Just wanted to know. Come on, let's get out of here." He grabs my hand and leads me out of the castle as though he knows it like the back of his hand... even though we've never been here.

     "InuYasha? How do you know which way to go?" He stops looking very nervous. What if... "You lied to me." He looks at me in shock and despair.

    "No! No, Kagome I-"

     "Shut up! I remember everything! It wasn't a dream... this is. You made it look like you came and saved me! Just so I'd... I'd... UGH! I'm leaving!"

     "Kagome!"

     I wake up gasping for breath. Hiroshi wakes up and looks at me, concerned. I give him a thumbs up telling him I'm okay and lay back down. I'm going to kill InuYasha if he ever tries that again!

15 Miles Away

     I wake up cursing.

     "So, how did it go?" Miroku asks smugly. I turn over in my tree. "I take it not to well."

     "She figured it out, okay?"

     "Well, you can't say you're surprised. Kagome's a smart girl." Sango interrupts. "You creating that alternate universe where you make her think you saved her and didn't screw up again wouldn't have worked for long." They go back to bed leaving me to my thoughts.

     Kagome...
