She opened her eyes to see it all gone. There was no sign any of those sights had even been here. As she looked around, realization dawned on her: those visions were fake, that world was fake, she had been suffering in another reality. That world and nothing in it existed. She blinked a few times, then perked up. She still (annoyingly) found herself in a small room- but this one wasn't empty. She noticed a slumped over figure sitting across from her. In the darkness, she couldn't make out its features even though they were only three feet apart. She could make out a few visible objects on it, however. As she leaned closer, she noticed what those objects were. Wires were connected into its arms and neck, and thin tubes were connecting into its back. She could hear the sound of fluids coming from the tubes. She stood, finding that there was nothing restricting her, and walked the short distance next to it. It gave no reaction. She thought it was dead, but why would they throw a dead body in here? Kneeling next to it, she placed her hand on its chest and felt for a heartbeat. She found that it was a rather faint one. Alive but not well, I would presume. She prodded its arm and found it to be made of a hard metal. A quick examination revealed that both its arms and legs were made out of the same substance. She found most of it was metal, not including the torso and head. She poked the side of its head, which was definitely softer, and finally heard a small noise come from it. She poked it again, twice as hard. It remained silent and unmoving. Kneeling in front of it, she grabbed its lowered head and pulled it up and looked at its face. It reminded her of something, but she couldn't think of exactly what. "Hmph." The disorted sound made its eyes openly slightly. They were glassy and lifeless. It stared at her for a few seconds, then muttered something incoherent and closed them. Hm. Creature appears to have lost will to live. How sad. Finding it would do her little to no good, she stopped looking at it and turned her attention to looking around. This place has no openings, no way to escape. A place sealed off from the world, meant to hide this excuse of a creature? If it serves no purpose, best to put it out of its misery. She turned to look back at it. "YOu reALly doN'T AppEaR To BE DanGeROus....WHy ARe yoU evEN hERE?" It didn't react. She sat back on the bench and stared at it. As long as we're stuck here....might as well observe it a little more...
Quite some time had passed when one of them finally came. She had been observing the creature for hours, and only now was she starting to bore. To her, this creature was fascinating. It seemed very docile and quiet, although she heard it mutter something every now and then. Occasionally it would look at her, and it was as if life returned to those empty eyes. But then one of them came. A pale, bony creature walked in- and she was instantly out.
When she awakened, both creatures were gone. Looking around, she could find no trace of either of them. Were they just hallucinations too? She shook her head, not knowing what to believe. Perhaps I'm losing myself. To go insane when I don't even know my reasons....pathetic. But then again, I may be going insane from not knowing. Perhaps I am pondering myself, my purpose, who I am.....I just don't remember. Perhaps I was insane before any of this and it just catches me now? Or no.....am I truly insane and I always see these things? Then again, what proof do I have that any of this is real? Perhaps this is just a dream as well. I might be dying in reality, and yet I am trapped in this false world. My prison. A world of lies to make me reject what is true. Or maybe this is reality, and my mind is too weak to bear it. She looked up at where the creature had once been and remembered the wires and tubes connecting to it. If it was real...wouldn't there be at least one sign it had been there? She reached forward and touched the wall where the wires had emerged- and felt that this part was weaker. This certain area was thinner than the rest of the wall. Hm. She knocked on the wall a few times, hearing a small echo. Perhaps it is hollow? A tunnel, perhaps? She tapped on it a few more times. Yes, it is......is it weak enough to bash in? She looked at her hand and noticed something strange on her finger. The tips were glassy almost... She stared at them, weary at first but quickly growing used to it. A small overlooked detail. Doubtful it will cause harm... She turned back to the wall. Alright...I doubt I can break this in with ease, but worth a try. She punched the wall as hard as she could and was rather surprised to find that it broke easily. Oh. How convenient. True to her theory, there was a tunnel behind the wall. It lead off, then shot up. A few liquid stains were all that she could find in it. Well that was useless... She sighed and sat back against the wall. No way out unless I'm a snake. But....wait.....How did that thing get in then? A creature of the same size as me wouldn't be able to climb in through that small opening either. So there must be another exit, whether it be on the walls, the floor, or the ceiling. There are more ways out than one, I just have to search for them. Thus began a thorough search of this tiny room that served as her prison. It lasted longer than suspected, but she soon found that she had been right- there was a thinner area on one of the walls. This was, however, refused to break. She hit it several times but failed to even leave a dent. I should've known they'd make the actual exit hard to break... She gave up trying to break it and began to ponder alternate ways to get rid of the door. She couldn't come up with any logical ones, however, so she gave up quickly. She sat on her bench, staring at the area where the door was, and began to think. Why did I just pass out when the creature came in? It isn't like it did anything to me. It never even touched me, and I just passed out? Why would I do that? Do I fear those creatures so much I pass out when I see one? .....I can think of them now without even twitching, so that must not be it....but then again, thought is different from reality. Hm....do they let off some type of chemical substance that renders anything that breathes unconscious? They don't look like a creature that would do that, but perhaps they do. ....Did they drug me? ...No, I would have been affected at a much faster rate if they had. Argh, confusing! She angrily slammed her fist onto the wall and heard the sound of creaking metal. Looking at where she'd hit, she saw a rather large dent. Oh. Are the walls really so weak? She hit it again, and again, and again, until the dent was now a rather large hole. It was pitch black in the hole. She reached her hand in and felt around, finding ground almost directly beneath her hand. Without considering the possibility of another creature in the room next to hers, she crawled through the hole. The room was empty. She noticed quickly and began to search for another exit from this prison. After searching for a bit, she realized the only way to really "escape" from the small room was to break the wall in - again. She did so, and found another small room. It was empty as well. She began to repeat this procedure of smashing walls in, and every time she came across a small, empty room. Each one felt like a copy of the last, and she felt she was getting nowhere.
It wasn't until she reached a large room that she saw any change. This one was much more open and actually had a bit of red light illuminating it. As she crawled in, she noticed something standing at the other end of the room. It was completely still, even when she began to approach it. In the red light, she could make out a few shreds of black that barely covered it, and short white hair. On its neck was a blue light that blinked on and off. She stared at it for a little bit, then prepared to break the next wall in.
It didn't seem to like that.
As she raised her fist, the small being grabbed her arm and threw her onto the ground. Before she could recover, she heard it whisper "Threat Detected. Information sent. Command: Destroy."
