morning came and sora had already woken up a few hours before it was the time she usually wakes up to.

she was just being too cautious with the man. she sat on the bed with a frown on her face, staring at the door. footsteps could be heard and it was coming closer.

oh, he wakes up early?

two knocks on the door made her body jolt, "breakfast, sora." wait a little bit ...

the girl then slowly opened the door and peeked outside to see jake was not there anymore, assuming he went to the kitchen already.

slow and sleepy steps to the kitchen and he saw jake already sitting on the stool, eating his breakfast.

two plates of nice-looking pancakes were served. "eat." she then went to sit on the opposite stool, starting to munch on her pancake.

the kitchen was enveloped with silence. both were focusing on the pancakes.

she rolled her eyes at the knife and fork for being too complicated to use and she finally ate with her bare hand. the pancakes tasted good, not gonna lie.

this jake dude is a good cook.

the man had a small smile on his face seeing the annoyed girl. she seems to do well today ...

"ah good, seems like you understand the rules now." jake said with a small smirk but sora kept her head down, holding the urge to roll her eyes at the man.

"finish it and i'll send you to school."

wait, what did he just say? no, she couldn't agree with this. yes, she could accept the nonsense rules he made but this. school is another hellhole she wouldn't want to be in.

she abruptly stood up and looked to the side, "not going."

"you're going."

"i said—"

"and i said i'm not going!"

shit, did i scream? damn you kim sora!

sora turned her back and proceeded to walk away after realizing that she had just broken one of his rules.

a hand gripped her wrist and her back was harshly pushed to the wall, both of her wrists were locked by him.

sharp eyes were fixated into her now teary ones. scary. he looked scary.

so damn scary.

the gaze was too sharp and it somehow sent a shiver down her body.

"did you just raise your voice on me, kim sora? who do think you are?" jake said while still locking her in place.

"i don't want to go to that place anymore! who are you to tell me to do what?" she fought back while struggling to get out of his hold. then, she abruptly went silent when he saw his face shift.

he smirked. stupid smirk.

he smirked and tighten his hold, probably will leave bruises later. "darling loves to break rules, hm? time to teach you something, sora."

with rough holds, she was dragged to her own room— no, but her bathroom.

finally, he let her hands go and went to cup her face. "listen, i want to be all smiley with you today but you just love to see me pissed off, don't you?"

with that being said, he went out and slammed the door. click! jake locked the door. delicate fingers of his were drumming on the door,

"reflect."

the lights went off. "fuck—fucking turn on the light sim jake!" please don't. don't play with my trauma, please.

this is too much for her.

it was dark and cold. she can't even see a thing. the small window was covered with some sort of black cover. only a small light coming from the gap between the floor and the door being the source of light.

unpleasant scenes and scenes came to her mind and it started to make her tremble.

parents fighting, the loud screams, the smash of glass, the dark closet and the starving stomach. she was five when it all happened. her mother locked her in the dark closet while they were fighting, mr. and mrs. kim.

they even forgot that they have a kid in their closet after their arguments for days.

knocks and scratches sound could be heard with unstoppable pleads. "o-open up jake! i c-can't do this!" pleads and pleads but the man was not in her room but he was on his couch in the living room, smirking at the begging of mercy.

"jake! open up!"

"i-i won't do that anymore"

"p-please ..."

"i c-can't breathe."

well, cruel is one way to spell his name.

moments passed and passed until the room fell silent.

oh.

he finally went to check on her and went inside the room. weak knocks on the bathroom door could be heard and he smiled. slow hands went to finally unlock the door, revealing her and the girl looked so miserable.

messy hair stuck on her sweaty face, lips that were starting to turn pale, heavy breaths, trembling hands and teary eyes with her head slumped on the side of the bathtub.

a smile of satisfaction was painted on his face and he slowly crouched down in front of her, tilting his head a bit.

"how was it, baby? learnt your lesson yet?" slow hands went to tuck her hair behind her ears to see the face clearly. she looks terrible right now. so terrible.

"get up. your bed now. sleep." he commanded and his face changed to his usual serious one.

but, sora was tired with all the exhausting cries and flashbacks. her muscles went numb and all she could do was nod a 'yes' to him. trembling hands went to touch the ground to help herself stand up but failed.

"c-can you h-help me ..? m-mr. sim?"

with a sigh, he lifted her up and gently laid her fragile figure on the bed and covered her with the blanket. jake joined her on the bed and caress her hair.

the distance between them was small and the manly cologne of his was somehow calming.

"sweet darling, it's easy to be good but you made it hard. don't wanna see the crying face of yours again after this, do we? hm?"

she stayed silent not being able to let out her voice, clearly her throat got hoarse from the screams and cries earlier. sora's eyes started to get heavy with the caresses from him and finally, she went to her dreamland.

"it's annoying hearing your cries."

with that, he left the room.
