3 weeks later...

ELLIE SAMUELS POV:

It's been 3 weeks since Danny left. He is returning today. We sent letters to each other, only 1 each because the time it takes for them to arrive is a week long. I got a surprise letter from Daniel, after having a bad week...

To my darling Ellie, 

By the time you get this letter it will be exactly a week since I last saw you, and it has been killing me. The training has been real hard. Rafe is doing really well. They have asked him if he will go to Britain to help fight, of course Rafe being Rafe said absolutely. He just has to break it to Evelyn who I can imagine won't take it too well. They did only ask him as he is the greatest pilot out of the lot of us. So don't worry, the best boyfriend in the world is coming back for you in exactly 2 weeks time. When I get best believe I will not let you go until you get bored of me. 

There is some madly talented pilots over here in Arizona, but not as good as us. Rafe and I had a brawl with some guys over here but don't you worry, we didn't even get a bruise. We did however get suspended for a day that set us back. They were being real assholes, so we see it as, they deserved it. 

I hope you're doing okay my beautiful girl, I miss you so much it hurts. 2 more weeks baby. We've got this.

I have read the letter lots of times and keep it under my pillow at night time, just to feel close to him. I remember on our first date Danny said about the moon, that no matter where you are it will never be bigger than your thumb. So everytime I look at the moon I know Danny will be doing the same. 

As soon as I got his letter I wrote one right back...

To my handsome Danny, 

Work has been fine, turns out that when you pilots are gone there aren't so many injuries, says something?. I've been finding it difficult without you, been counting down the days till I will see you again. Having your letter has settled me massively though, knowing your safe. 

I already knew you could win any brawl but doesn't mean I want you doing it. If you get back and there's even a scratch on you, you best believe I will be going after whoever did that. Congratulations to Rafe and Goodluck to him when telling Evelyn, she hasn't stopped going on about him since he left, but that's what betty would say about me to you. I miss you o much Daniel, I feel physically sick when i think about how you're not here. I've been watching the moon every night thinking about you. The shirt you gave me before you left, I have been wearing every night. Only 13 days and 9 hours until I see you. I guess when this letter gets to you it will only be a week so that's exciting. I passed my final medical exam and am now a fully qualified Nurse. 

The night you left Betty and I had a slumber party, eating ice cream and watching sad, romance movies. I couldn't believe it when Betty told me her and Red were seeing each other. So so happy for them. I'll see you at the station when you get back.
