"Marie" Santana yelled across the cafeteria signaling me to come sit with him.
"I told yo ass bout saying my name too loud" I snickered sitting down next to him
"Yea yea whatever, what you doing today after school?"
"Going by the store and helping Dolores today. Why?
Dolores owned a store at the corner of the neighbor I lived in. She knew me ever since I was 6. My mom left the door open from being so high and I crawled out and made my way to the store. Dolores found me until my mom came and got me that's when she found out who my mom was and promised not to call the police cause she liked her music.
Dolores was like my Aunty. She taught me the basics to womanhood and I would go see her in the store every chance I got, but only when my mom was high because my mom felt like I was spending too much time with a stranger little does she know the stranger raised me better then she ever did.
"Dolores old ass still around? Damn and I was just asking cause I don't wanna go home me and my momma fighting right now"
"Not too much on Dolores and just come with me today after school and be nice Cause I know how your ass gets"
"Boo hoo yea whatever" he said waving me off
The bell rang indicating that lunch was over and we have 5 minutes to get to our next period class. Good thing me and Santana have college readiness next with our favorite teacher. I ran to my locker grabbed my books and met up wit Santana.
"Marie and Santana y'all are late" ms Sanchez said
"I know I'm sorry I had to run to my locker and there was a fight in b hall" Santana said
"Oh lord they always fighting, can't wait to resign from this damn school" she said
"Wait you resigning?" I asked
"Yes right after y'all graduate you know I have to see my babies graduate. But go take y'all seats class started"

After school me and Santana made our way to Dolores store. We decided to leave straight after school cause there was gonna be another fight and we didn't wanna be affiliated with this school.
"Girl I need to buy some studio time cause I'm really serious on being a rapper bestiana" Santana said
" I feel like you should go for it. I never heard you rap before so when u do make sure I'm with you"
"Marie now u know u ain't slick and you know I'm nosy. Yesterday I needed some chapstick and I went in your bag to find some and I found your song book I can't believe yo ass ain't tell me you can sing and we been besties for all these years"
