Gracee's POV

I saw everything.

I ran into an alleyway the second the fire monster came because I was worried about Peter seeing me. I have figured out that Mysterio's name must be Beck, because I heard Peter yell that as he was running towards him. Something about that name seems familiar, but I don't know what it is.

I saw Mysterio almost die, and how worried Peter was. I heard Nick talking to Peter, and in that moment I was so tempted to run out there and defend him. I had to remind myself that none of them know that I know everything, and that that would have ruined my plan.

Maybe it's a bad idea, but I've decided to follow Peter and Mysterio into a bar. I feel like a terrible spy because I don't have a disguise, but hopefully I won't need one. My family always told me that if I ever needed to blend in I should wear a hat. But honestly, it's kind of pointless because a hat doesn't make you any less noticeable, especially if you're famous. I'm surprised that no one ever noticed any of the Avengers when they would go undercover.

I stay close behind them, careful to walk silently so they won't be able to hear the sound of my heels on cobblestone. I watch them from outside through the glass windows for a few minutes until I can be sure I can slip inside without them noticing. I feel like a total stalker, but whatever.

I carefully open the door and walk to the corner of the bar without looking directly at anyone. I try to appear casual, and get out my phone to text MJ an update.

Me: I followed them into a bar

MJ🖤: Stalker, much?

Because I don't have an ear pierce to use comms, I settle for my AirPods. I put one in so I can still be hear my surroundings.

"Friday, activate enhanced reconnaissance mode." I say under my breath.

I look at Peter, who is sipping lemonade, and then Mysterio, who seems to be drinking a beer. When I see Mysterio's face up close for the first time I do a double take, although I am unsure why.

"Hey. You gotta celebrate. We did something good tonight." Mysterio says.

His voice sounds so familiar.

"Yeah. Fury was right. Tony did a lot for me so I owe it to him, to everybody." Says Peter.

"Do you?"

"Yeah. I mean Mr. Stark gave me the chance to be more. He wanted me to be better than him. And Fury wants me to live up to that."

"What do you want?"

"What do you mean?"

"What do you want?"

"I don't know."

"What do you want? You, Peter Parker. Now. I know you're thinking about it."

"I wanna go on my trip. I want to go back on my trip with my friends. And go to the top of the Eiffel Tower with my girlfriend and tell her how I feel and... give her a kiss." Mysterio laughs softly. "Shut up, man."

"You're not gonna do that, are you?"

"No, I can't."

"Why not?"

"Because I have too much of a responsibility." A waitress walks by and picks up the glasses I saw Peter wearing on the bus and hands them to him. "My God. Thank you so much."

"What are those? Are those the...?"

"Edith glasses, yeah."

"Friday, what are the Edith glasses?" I whisper.
