Back at the hotel, my whole class is sitting in the lobby, ready for the carnival. They are drinking out of glowing cups, wearing glow stick necklaces and headbands, as well as heart shaped glow stick glasses.

They're not gonna like this...

"Good news." Mr. Harrington announces. "We're going to the opera!"

Everyone groans in protest.

"The opera?" Betty asks in disbelief.

"Don't look at me." Mr. Dell says.

"What happened to the carnival?" Asks MJ.

"Well, this is upgrade living, guys. Come on. The tour company just gave us these tickets. For free!" As Mr. Harrington is talking, Ned looks at me. I widen my eyes and nod my head to tell him that this is apart of the plan, and he nods in understanding. "Do you have any idea how much opera tickets cost?"

"No, because none of us have ever wanted to go to the opera, ever." Says Flash, making it clear that he is not to happy about this.

"Uh, well, I think this is gonna be culturally enriching for us." Ned says.

"Thank you, Ned." Mr. Harrington says appreciatively. "Everyone, this is gonna be, maybe, the best four hours of our whole trip."

"Four hours?!" Everyone says in unison.

"Guys, I think this is gonna be really fun. Seriously." Ned continues.

We all go to our rooms to change into nice outfits and then meet each other outside. When everyone is ready, we walk through the carnival to the opera house. Fireworks are being set off and everyone is cheering. The streets are crowded with people holding glowing lanterns and wearing flower crowns along with even more glow stick accessories.

"I bet now you're all happy I had you pack a nice outfit." Mr. Harrington yells over the cheering.

"Yeah, because we'd much rather go to a four-hour opera instead of the biggest party in the world." Flash yells in response.

"Again, don't look at me." Says Mr. Dell.

I am walking next to Gracee, who looks beautiful as ever. She is wearing a floral dress that goes down to her ankles, with a short puffy sleeves. It's flowy with a slit down the side, showing her leg. It fits her petite body perfectly, and looks great against her tan, being white with royal blue flowers. Her shoes are light brown sandal heels, showing off her French tip pedicure she got a few days ago. She left her straightened hair down and I have to force myself to look away.

God, she's the prettiest girl I've ever seen.

"Parker, do you copy? Comm check, one, two." Mrs. Hill's voice over comms ruins the moment and increases my nervousness.

When we make it to the opera house, I feel bad that my class will have to sit through this. It is silent compared to outside and there is hardly anyone here as the workers prepare for the show.

"Okay, here we are. Beat the rush." Mr. Harrington leads the way inside.

"Yeah, the rush out." Mr. Dell is unenthused.

"Lucky for us, we got the best seats in the house." Mr. Harrington pretends to be happy about this.

"Let's go." Mr. Dell says, ready to get this over with.

"Hey. I'll save you a seat." Brad says to Gracee, who doesn't seem to happy about this.

When he walks away I tentatively walk up to her. "You look really pretty."
