A:N This took a while to finish 😅

But I've finally completed it, so it's time to post it.

Levi sat in his chair, toes barely scraping the floor, glaring holes through the mahogany wood of the desk before him as his fists clenched around his cape.

He didn't know why, it might have had something something to do with his Ackerman genes, but anytime Erwin would come to visit his office, Levi could sense him approaching and would wait with bated breath.

This was gonna be different today though.

Levi could feel it.

The feeling that rippled through his body wasn't just the usual feeling, and it made him uneasy.

It had the usual sense of urgency, sure. But there was something more to it this time.. Like anxiety, or panic. And Erwin wasn't one to panic.
Which is why Levi was sat here, feeling fearful, his glare so harsh even his desk seemed to shrink away from him. He sighed as worry bubbled up in his chest, his glare subsiding to a look to match, and decided to get up and make himself some tea, but as he did, there was a loud knock on the door and he tensed.

"Levi? Can I come in?" Erwin's voice flitted through the door, as smooth and deep as ever, and Levi relaxed slightly, but his hands clenched again.

"Yeah, come in" Levi replied, staying stood up and watching as the door opened allowing Erwin inside. He didn't take his eyes off of Erwin as he turned around to close the door. Something was definitely off, Levi could feel it a lot more strongly now, and see it in the way Erwin was holding himself.. All he wanted to do was make it better, but he held himself back.

A soft pain surged through his head and he hissed, moving to the table where he made his tea. Due to his past, and his stubbornness, he resists his Ackerman genes a lot, which usually results in this kind of pain. His genes accepted Erwin when Levi had first decided to follow him, but it took Levi's brain, and heart, a lot longer, so he was used to the pain, but he didn't feel it that much anymore as he had now fully come to terms with the fact that Erwin was his host. He just wished he wasn't so stubborn and held back by his pride.

"Tea?" Levi turned his back on Erwin, not waiting for an answer and reaching for two of his favourite cups. He heard Erwin let out a sound of affirmation and his chest tightened painfully. What was wrong? Levi couldn't figure it out. His eyebrows furrowed as he took down his favourite lemon tea.

It was one that Erwin had first gotten for him a little while back. It was common knowledge that Levi wasn't much of a sleeper, but he also didn't eat much. Erwin would try and get him to, but his body could only manage small portions, so Erwin had suggested that Levi try some fruits and vegetables to see which ones he liked most so they could come up with a meal plan for him. It took some convincing, but Levi had reluctantly agreed, making Erwin agree that he and Hange were the only two that would know.

To the surprise of both Erwin and Hange, Levi seemed to have a bit more of a taste for sweet foods. Hange used this to their advantage, not only bringing Levi fruits but also things like brioche, homemade jam, anything sweet that they could get their hands on. Levi tried them all, surprisingly approving of the majority of them and developed an affection for citrus flavours like lemon, lime and orange. He was now more inclined to have at least a slice of toast in the morning, just so he could put his favourite jam of Hange's, a lemon jam, onto his toast. They both watched Levi with amusement whenever he did this which would earn them both glares, but they were usually half hearted due to how much he liked the flavour.

So one day when Erwin came back from the capital, he walked into Levi's office carrying a dark blue tin and placed it on his desk, a small smile at his lips. Levi picked it up and scanned it, reading that it was lemon tea, and he immediately sprang up to make some. This earned a laugh from Erwin, and was surprised at how quickly Levi had made it. He turned around towards Erwin before lifting his cup to his lips and taking a sip, and he was instantly in love with it. He didn't think he was obvious, but Erwin somehow knew how much he loved it and now made sure to get a new tin every time Levi finished one.
