Chapter 1: Not my first choice

What I am about to say is horrible and I will likely be scorned by my fellow Exotics. My first bias was always Kris because he was the tallest, best looking, and coolest to me. When he left, I was extremely heartbroken and unsure what to do. However, Luhan quickly entered my heart and he became my bias. Unfortunately, he left as well and took a piece of my heart like Kris. I never noticed Lay and I actually thought he was ugly until most recently. He had always seemed awkward and his nose seemed unnatural, but I grew to like these features and his dancing skills highly impressed me. I took notice of him in Exo's music video "Call Me Baby" and even began searching up videos that only had him. His imitation of Girl's Generate "Gee" made me laugh and I thought he was adorable. I also really enjoyed watching his birthday event that he created to spend time with fans. I suddenly had a revelation that he had a great personality, great looks and I had just never noticed him before.

Lay can be likened to that shy guy in your history class who you never noticed and you never talked to until a strange coincidence such as being paired up randomly by the teacher. You two get along and you are absolutely flabbergasted that you never ever bothered to get to know him before. Exactly. This is exactly what happened to me. I did not even personally know Lay, but I felt as if I had done him wrong by not noticing how cute and manly and handsome and cool he was.

After a few weeks, it was May and I had to study for my college finals. I felt bittersweet that this would be my last time studying for finals because I would be graduating college in a few days. I was finally 21 and I was an adult that could do anything from drinking to clubbing to going to jail. I had worked my butt off to get all A's (except for the B+ in my difficult Organic Chemistry class) and I wanted to give it my all to end my school life on a happy note. Like any other college kid, I was sleep deprived from studying so much and I decided to grab a coffee at some local café. The city is a big place and I am used to seeing celebrities, but nothing could have prepared me for who I saw. It was Lay from EXO!

He was busy texting on his phone while his manager babbled into his ear so he accidentally bumped into star struck me and spilled a bit of iced tea on my nice white t-shirt. We made eye contact and he apologized quickly, "I'm sorry." It sounded unnatural, but his accent was not too noticeable.

"I-it's okay." I mumbled.

He quickly pulled a pen out of his jacket pocket and wrote something on the back of his receipt. "Here is my number. Please contact me if you need anything."

I nodded and then he walked out the door. No one else in the shop gave him a second glance. These Americans did not realize they had just been graced by the presence of a Chinese god. I found it hard to believe myself. I quickly got my coffee and then went back to studying. It was not like I would ever see him again, right?
