Lay was adamant about proving my parents wrong and he worked hard to ensure that he could maintain being a celebrity while being married to me. He and his company put together an article breaking the news to the fans and although the fans were sad, they still supported him. In fact, we received lots of presents and even baby clothes! He decided to continue being in Exo, but Exo was getting old and he also landed acting roles in China.
Lay was only 25, but there were so many new boy groups every year. I personally loved UNIQ and BTS even though he was my fiancée. I may have secretly voted for them sometimes...huehue...
My parents accepted us after only a few weeks and we ended up getting married quickly like he had wanted. We compromised on having about a hundred guests; half of my choosing and half of his. Everyone was able to attend except for Kai. It was really upsetting that he had to go to Japan for a photoshoot. He told me that he could not put it off because he had a really hectic schedule. I did not hear from him for more than two months.
In the meantime, Lay and I settled down at a little two bedroom apartment in a nice part of Seoul. We had an extraordinary time painting the walls bright yellow and blue, and we would laugh whenever we got paint on ourselves. The place was quickly stuffed with cute mugs that I picked out, a large sofa, a bed for the guest bedroom, a king sized bed for us, and tons of food in our fridge. It was perfect bliss.
