I do not understand what overcame me, but after I got back to my room and changed, I decided to text the number on the card to let Lay know that I was alright. I did not want anything in return. I just wanted to text him.
"Hello. This is Yura, the girl from the coffee shop. I just wanted to let you know that I am alright. (:"
After a few minutes, I received a response. "Hello. I am Yixing. I am glad that you are alright. You must be Korean. Have you heard of the kpop band Exo? Would you like a VIP ticket to the concert in NYC this weekend for your troubles?"
His formal response made me laugh a little. Of course I knew of Exo! His humbleness clearly showed through and I loved him a little bit more than before; if that was even possible. Then it hit me that I had just been offered a VIP TICKET TO THE EXO CONCERT! It had sold out months ago so I was shocked. I had really wanted to go.
"OMG! Thank you so much! I would love to go."
"Ha-ha no worries. See you then." He attached an online ticket and I felt dizzy. If I was not already sitting down, I probably would have fainted on the floor. This was all too good to be true! Or did I save the nation in a past life? (A/N: Korean saying that you usually hear in kdramas.)
The week could not have gone by any slower. I studied and did well on my exams, but my mind was certainly elsewhere. The day of the concert, I decided to wear a loose black tank top and white shorts that hung perfectly on my thin figure. It was hot and humid, but I refrained from wearing open toed shoes in case crazy fans stepped on my feet. Instead, I settled on plain black converse. Most of my clothing was black or white because I like simplicity.
When I arrived at the concert venue, I was glad that I had come early because there was already a long line of people waiting to get in. After about fifteen minutes, I was let in and I took an escalator up to the area where you can find your seat. I felt awfully bad for the people that sat all the way in the nosebleed area because they paid at least three hundred dollars and they could not even see their idols up close. But I think the concert experience and just being there was better than nothing. Sometimes idols even ran up there to meet their fans and thank them for being so dedicated.
I had to go through another round of security and identification to be let into the VIP section backstage and it was actually bigger than I expected. I was allowed to hang out in a room adjacent to the room Exo was in. In the VIP room, there were five other girls who looked bored out of their minds. I overheard some of what they were saying while sitting there.
"I cannot believe that we are here instead of the Maroon5 concert."
"I know. I only liked Luhan."
It hurt me to hear them speaking like this, but I ignored them because I did not want to start a fight. I smiled and reminded myself to be grateful instead of letting these people bring down my good mood.
[Kai's POV]
I peeked through the curtain to see how many fans were already here and even though there was still half an hour before it was supposed to start, almost all the seats were filled. I waved and smiled and the whole stadium was screaming. It made me feel good that I was making all of these people happy.
When I passed the VIP room to get my makeup and hair checked, I was startled that a celebrity was there. She sat apart from a group of grouchy looking teenagers and she had a bright smile on. She looked completely natural, but she was perfect. Her hair was up in a ponytail rather than down like most women. I could tell that her skin was perfect under the light coverage makeup she had and her body was a little too skinny, but her friendly eyes and that smile revealed her bright personality. I was instantly attracted to her like no one before. Most of the women I had encountered were fake and they always seemed to have ulterior motives, but she seemed quite innocent.
She abruptly turned her head and smiled at me...or so I thought. Suddenly Lay appeared behind me and came to hug her. I felt my heart drop. I had wanted to talk to her...
[Yura's POV again]
I was completely taken aback by Lay's hug. He smiled at me and my brain stopped functioning.
"I'm sorry for last time. How have you been?"
"I-It's okay. I've been good. What about you?"
"I've been so busy. By the way, you look beautiful. Enjoy the show. Let's eat after this."
He rushed off and I was left just feeling in awe.
