2 weeks Later

I was extremely overwhelmed. The release of the second season had shattered all expectations, breaking many records I didn't even know existed. People tended to make a big deal out of nothing, but I guess I should've been more excited too. It meant more opportunity. Instantly, I was thrown into the S-rank category of actors. Every movie script and role you could think of was falling onto my desk. Every news station, blog, radio show, night time show, and awards show had my name written all over it. If it wasn't for my manager, I probably would've locked myself inside of a room with Drake and ignored all of it. Things could get quite chaotic very quickly.

I also had the impending doom of being exposed by Drake's father. I obviously wouldn't let Drake agree to such a thing. That man would never get the satisfaction of being in the same room as Drake.

"You have a callback for the role of Robin. There's also..."

"Wait, you mean like Batman and Robin?" I asked. It was a dream role I had auditioned for last year in hopes of becoming the boy wonder. The little boy inside of me was hysterical at the good news. It was a role that would solidify me as an actor.

"Yes. It seems the director asked for you personally. He thinks you'd make a great robin. Something about your face fitting the character and blah blah blah..."

"You also have Jimmy Fallon tomorrow night and Jimmy Kimmel the following night. Drake also called..."

"Drake?!" I blurted out as if I didn't know what he was talking about. My manager rolled her eyes at me and smirked.

"I know everything Max. The amount of shit I have to keep up with to keep that omega a secret is ridiculous. It would've helped if you would've picked someone less complicated. It's just like you to choose the son of a billionaire who's also supposed to be engaged to Nikolai Arnoult. To think he was about to marry a royal. How in the world did you pull that off?" She asked.

With a nervous shrug and smile I apologized, "Sorry? I didn't know Drake was..."

"Important, influential, rich, controversial...yeah... the media is catching on. So I suggest you only see Drake in private." The annoyed woman recommended. As much as I wanted to scream out to the mountains that my lover was none other than Drake Baldwin, I knew that I needed to be careful.

My manager sighed and shook her head when she noticed me contemplating everything. "Anyways, he called. Apparently he's in heat and won't be able to make it to..."

"What?!" I exclaimed. Why was I just now being informed of this? Drake could be suffering and here I was complaining about late night shows and movie roles.

"He's in heat. You know...the thing that all omegas go through when..."

"Jessica! Shut up! I know. I just...I didn't know about it. I want you to cancel everything," I ordered. Jessica raised both eyebrows at me, essentially telling me that was a bad idea. I didn't have that kind of pull in my career yet. Canceling on people would get you blacklisted quicker than you could say I'm sorry.

"Don't question me. I know a role like Robin only comes once in a lifetime but Drake needs me right now. I wouldn't feel right going into a callback knowing that he was at home in pain because I'm not there," I explained. My manager exhaled sharply, understanding that she couldn't fight me on this. All my priorities were to take care of Drake. He deserved to be cherished and spoiled more than anyone.

"I'll ask for an extension for Robin. The director really wants you, so he'll just have to wait," she said. I was already half way out the door by the time she ended her sentence. The only thing on my mind was Drake. How stupid could I have been? On top of his worries about his abuser, all the signs of his heat were there. The sweet strawberry scent he gave off was lingering around everywhere I went. Even now as I bolted through the hallways I could still smell him despite the 20 mile distance from him. On top of that I couldn't even leave this morning without him all over me, begging me to stay with him. He was way more needy than usual. I thought it was because of his father's demands.

I rushed out of my manager's building and into my car while dialing Drake's number. He answered after the second ring, his calm voice relieving my panic.

"Hello?"

"Hey, Jessica told me you called. I'm on my way as we speak," I told him. There was brief silence before he replied.

"Oh, I'm fine Maxy. I...I don't need you here. I know how busy you are and..."

"Nonsense. Your in heat and I want to be there for you. Last time you were in so much pain and..."

"Max, I'm fine. Your opa left some really good pain meds for me. It's totally okay," he replied. I could tell he was trying to dodge me. Almost as if he didn't want me there with him. Was he rethinking this? Had I made him hate me for forcing him to share everything with me? I feared that he'd resent me and force himself to get along with me because I marked him. Things had developed so quickly and now I wondered if he regretted it.

"Max...you...I can feel you. You feel guilty. It has nothing to do with you marking me," he clarified.

"Then what is it? I'm worried about you. Ever since you told me about the pregnancy and your mother coming to see you..."

"That's exactly why I don't want you here. I...I feel like you knowing about Nikolai makes it so much harder," he explained. Did Drake not realize that he had every right to do what he did. It didn't make me look at him any differently. It honestly made me realize just how strong he was.

"I don't look at you any differently. I know what he did to you makes you feel like your disgusting. Like you don't deserve anything good in your life, but you deserve everything and more and I'll give it to you if you just let me."
