Dierdra's sleep was dreamless and vague. She fell asleep like a baby, due to the tossing and turning of the boat. When she awoke, she squinted because of the sun's rays shining directly into her eyes. Dierdra knew they couldn't go on for much longer. They were all extremely fatigued due to starvation.
Jacob kept insisting that they continue to push onwards though, and so they did. It didn't make it any less difficult. "Ready to switch?" Jacob asked Dierdra. "Sure." Dierdra said. "Go ahead and rest. You deserve it." Jacob handed the oar to Dierdra and laid down and shut his eyes.
Dierdra and Sasha didn't talk much. There was definitely a little tension between him, since they had both developed feelings for Jacob. The tension was unspoken but nonetheless there.
"I just can't believe we got into this mess." Sasha exclaimed. "I mean what are the chances that a psycho breaks onto a ship, kills the captain and then holds the crew hostage?" She asked. "At least he's dead now." Dierdra said. "I hope that bastard suffered." Sasha said. Dierdra grinned. Because deep down, she did too.
