Shaina held up the water bottle to Shannon's mouth, letting her drink as much as she could. Her lips were dry and chapped. The wind had picked up and the storm was brewing quickly. At any minute, the storm would start and they would need to seek shelter from the pelting rain.
Shannon had been feverish all day, falling in and out of consciousness. Shaina was insanely worried. She couldn't lose her twin sister. Shannon was always there for her when no one else was. Shannon was her other half.
Barney was barely hanging on by a thread. It would be a miracle if he made it through the night. Hollywood & Mariah had buried McKenna alongside Missy earlier in memoriam. The rain began slowly pouring down. Shaina heard running from behind her. She saw all of the boys and Kelsey running out of the forest, without Jason.
There was a look of fear in Huxley's eyes as he came back onto the shore. "Jason is dead!" He screamed. "He fell out of a tree and broke his neck!" Shaina felt like she was going to be sick. She had experienced more death in one day then she had in her entire life.
Rain began pelting down harder. Shannon winced in pain as the rain hit her burned legs. "Let's get you under the trees away from the storm." Shaina said. She helped Shannon up and helped her over by the canopy the trees provided.
Huxley and Chase went over to Barney in order to help him over to the forest. They carried him the entire way since he was unresponsive and unconscious. They laid him down on the sand and then started looking at his wounds. They were very obviously infected. A wound in his shoulder had grown insanely red, with pus surrounding the wound.
Sandra handed Huxley the hand sanitizer so that he could disinfect the wound, but Chase stopped him. "I hate to say this man, but he's a lost cause." Chase said to Huxley. We don't want to waste our supplies on people who are destined to die. Sandra was taken aback by Chase's cold words. Even though they were harsh, deep down she knew they were true.
Huxley glared at Chase and said, "he can hear you, you know." Chase said, "I bet Barney would agree with me. He wouldn't want you wasting supplies on him when we could use it on others who are way better off health wise." Huxley set down the hand sanitizer and handed it back to Sandra.
"Hopefully we'll get rescued soon." David said to Shaina. "Huxley found an abandoned shack while we were out and found a broken radio. Maybe we can fix it to communicate and get help." Shaina's eyes lit up with excitement. That meant they all had a chance to get off this island. A small chance, but at least a chance.
