When I pulled up to Forks High School, I got a lot of stares. I couldn't tell if it was because of my truck or my appearance. I could hear everyone whispering, but I didn't care. I only cared about finding my mates and my brother, more specifically, my mates.

I walk around looking for my class when an Asian kid around my height approaches me.

"Isabella, right?" he questions. I nod.

"Izzy"

"Izzy, I got it. It's Eric. If you need anything, you can count on me."

"Alright thanks, Eric" I quicken my step trying to get away, not to seem like a bitch, but I'm not here to make friends, I'm here to find my other halves.

My first class is in the gym, and I'm demolishing these girls at volleyball. I spike one girl and start apologizing immediately. She gives me the thumbs up, and I walk away for water. A guy walks up to me and makes himself known.

"Mike", he states. I look at him and reply, "Izzy." After I sit my water bottle down, I look back up to see the girl I hit jogging over.

"Izzy? " I nod again, getting annoyed. "I'm Jessica. You're from Arizona, right? Aren't people from Arizona supposed to be really tan?"

I think she's trying to impress Mike or something, but again, I couldn't care less. I look at her with dead eyes. She laughs nervously and walks off. I do the same.

Lunch comes around, and Mike motions me over to their table. They start to fuss over "whose girl I am." Suddenly, a guy comes and pecks my cheek. Before he could run off, I grabbed his arm and pulled him close.

"If you ever do that again, I'll break your face," I sneer.

He pales, and I squeeze his arm tight before letting him go. That's going to leave a bruise for sure, good.

Jessica laughs weirdly and mentions how they're fighting over me like a new toy. I ignored her and started eating my food.

Another girl at the table introduces herself as Angela. She seems cool. They continue their conversation as I feel a sudden heat hit me. My mates! I look towards where the heat is coming from and see a group of golden-eyed vampires walk in. Strange, they're never around humans like this.

Jessica starts talking: " Those are the Cullens. They moved here from Alaska." I nod, listening intensely about my mates.

Angela chimes in, "They keep to themselves." That makes sense, considering they're vampires, I think to myself.

Jessica continues, "Yeah, because they're all like with each other. It's weird."

"It's not weird they're all adopted, so it doesn't matter."

I tune them both out. As I continue to watch them, I feel my eyes flicker, and they suddenly all look over. I feel the warmth again and immediately know who I belong with.
