Izzy's P.O.V
We all piled into the ocean blue Jeep Wrangler, Jasper in the driver's seat, Emmett in the passenger and me in the back.
"I'm pulling over to a little spot in Port Angeles before we go home", Jasper hummed while his eyes met mine in the rear view mirror with a playful glint in them. I guess that was his way of giving me a hint.
"But... you're still not gonna tell me where we are going?" My eyebrows raised at his gesture, wondering if he was gonna spill the beans.
"No ma'am. You'll see once we get there and I acquire what I came for." His eyes went back to the road after that and he kept a sly grin on his face.
It was pretty quiet after that, just the sound of Emmett's radio playing. The song was an instrumental. Mellow and low sounds came from what I could tell was a piano and saxophone. I listened half heartedly as I contemplated the past couple of days. As nice as it was to find my mates, I didn't think it'd be this overwhelming to process. I mean I'm ecstatic to have them, but I know nothing is going to be easy for us going forward. We will have some big roles to fill, and I can't help but feel guilty, like I'm taking them away from their normal lives.
"Hey, what's got you feeling all gloomy back there?" Emmett raised one brow at me through the rear view mirror. I looked right back at him defeated before letting out a shaky breath.
"I feel like I'm pulling you guys into some real uncharted territory and taking you away from your normal lives. I mean, we're gonna have some critical roles to fill in due time. I know you guys didn't exactly sign up for that", I admitted sheepishly.
"Darling, you are our mate. All what being your mate comes with is what we signed up for. We may not be aware of those things, some of it may also be new and life changing, but we are not children, Izzy. And we are not new to change. Everything that we will experience will be done together, and that's all that matters." Jasper said to me as he constantly threw worry glances my way while still paying attention to the road. I sighed again.
"You're right, I just can't help worrying about you guys and how you're feeling."
"You are our mate. This relationship may be fresh, but we are bonded forever. The love is there, Goddess. You have nothing to worry about." Emmett remarked. I nodded, allowing their declarations to console me.
We still had a bit of the drive left after our brief conversation. I took in the scenery of the rainy town as we drove through it. I rolled my window down then took a deep breath in and out. The rain smelled earthy, and it left a light mist in the atmosphere as well.
I sat back against the seat with my head leaning towards the window. It was pleasant feeling, the mist lightly brushing against my face. I could feel the purity and innocent energy of the rain. It felt like small kisses were pecking my face. I chuckled softly, sending the water spirits appreciative energy. Each droplet has it's own energy and connection to the Earth, My Earth.
