Ok so let me say that I have no idea how I came up with this fic idea but it just kind of stuck around in my head until I wrote it down.
Its not like I'm trying to make the ship heterosexuals' but making one of them gay and trying to portray them in a heteronormative way or anything. I didn't want to make Remus a woman first because of this and at some point I thought of making him trans but at the end, I just wanted to write down my crazy weird idea as it was.
So, let me kind of explain my thought process of why I imagined this fic the way it is, I know I don't have to and that I totally have the creative freedom to do this but I feel weird about doing this and I don't know if someone will actually be offended by it. I'm just saying that I didn't do it to make it heteronormative or anything.
By the way, you can totally skip over my rant in this chapter and read the actual story.
So Remus was the marauder whom the rest were very protective over, this was mainly because he was a werewolf so they showed him extra care. I was imagining a scenario of how their dynamic could have changed and how it would have affected the plot (the trust issues and all) if Remus hadn't been a werewolf. then I got to scenarios where they were still protective of him the most but he wasn't a werewolf and that's how I came up with him being a girl/trans.
I like this version more because I was a huge tomboy myself growing up and I have experienced some of the things I've written about. I'm not so sure about my gender identity yet and I don't think I'm comfortable writing about, somebody's gender crisis when I'm not even sure of my own.
Also, this version of the story just fits better i guess, i had the main plot in my head within hours of coming up with the idea, So, here it is.
