Alih fell to the ground, coughing up large amounts of blood. The whole crowd around them was shunned, staring at the man who was once their "hero." People in the crowd started screaming at Melanthaha. "What did you do to him?!" they screamed. "How dare you kill him!" they scolded. Melanthaha stared at Alih lying there on the street, then turned her head over to the crowd. They all hushed in fear.

"You scold me for killing this man. You praise him for killing my love. You scold me because you don't like me. You praise him because you don't like my love. You praise him because he 'saved' you," she said, anger rising in her voice. "You praise him! You praise him because he's your hero! He saved you from everlasting terror, didn't he?! He saved you! From me!" She seemed crazy now, Alih still coughing up blood on the ground. The crowd's faces were all flushed in terror.

Alih looked up at Mel, still coughing up blood. He tried to scratch out words, "Yo- You're a- a- a mon- ster." Melanthaha looked down at him and kicked him in his side. He coughed up more blood. "You're a monster for killing the one thing I held dear. I only repaid the favour," she snarled. The crowd was silent. She was right. Nobody should be treated any differently if they killed someone, no matter who they are or who they killed.

Alih laid there and closed his eyes, breathing laboured breaths. "Y- You're r- right. I- I- I'm sorry f- f- for k- killing- him," he groaned. Melanthaha looked down at him in pity. "Have a nice afterlife," she said. "I won't ever forgive you, but you changed me... for the better I think." Alih looked up at her and slowly nodded, then closed his eyes forever. The crowd disbanded, going off on their separate ways. Mel turned around and walked home.

When she got home, she set up a small dinner for herself. She set the table, placing two plates. Once dinner was ready, she placed some for herself and someone who seemed to not be there at all. "I miss you so much, love..." she whispered. She then ate, cleaned up her food, and went to bed. Zephyr smiled from the kitchen. "I'm still here, doll," he whispered. He was only there in spirit, but, oh, he was there.
