*Aurelia P.O.V.*

The next few weeks passed and I had grown close with Hawk. Turned out Hawk didn't live far so we would ride our skateboards together to school every morning. "Morning Lia," he greeted as I came outside. "Morning Hawk," I said cheerfully. We left for school and laughed and talked the whole way. "Hey over here," Miguel called when we walked into the school. "Hey Miguel. What's up," I asked. "Not much can I talk to you alone," Miguel asked. "Sure," I said. "See you later," Hawk called. I gave a small wave as I walked away with Miguel.

"What's up," I asked. "Is there something going on between you two," he asked. I was in shock, why is he acting like this. "N-No. Why are you getting so worked up about me and him hanging out," I asked. "He was my best friend first," he said. "And he still is, but he is also my friend," I said. "Then why do I never get to see him anymore outside of school and the dojo," he asked. "I don't know. Ask him," I said. "I'm asking you," he said staring down at me. "Listen here, míjo. He has helped me, he understands my pain. Pain that you'll never understand. So before you judge our friendship maybe you should think about others needs," I said backing him into the wall of lockers. I walked to my class before he could respond and when lunch came he sat next to me, but I got up and left.

After school I rode with Hawk to the dojo, and Miguel finally got me in a place where I couldn't walk away. "Lia. I just wanted to say that I am sorry. I shouldn't of assumed that and it was wrong of me," he said. "You bet your ass it was wrong," I said. "And I'm sorry. Are we good now," he asked. "I guess," I said before I was engulfed in a hug. We learned some new drills then practiced some before Sensei ended class. We all got changed before meeting up outside. "So the karaoke bar in town is opened for minors now," Miguel said. "Sounds like fun," others agreed. "I've never been to a karaoke bar before," I said. "Oh we are definitely going now," Mitch said.

We made our way to the karaoke bar and when we arrived Hawk and I put our skateboards in the trunk. We got in and began to walk around. "Wow. It looks like the whole school is here," I commented as Moon went up on stage. "This is dedicated to someone I once loved before," Moon said as the music began. I realized that she was singing Enchanted as she stared down Hawk. I don't know what stirred inside of me but I became angry the longer she sang to him. She wasn't an awful singer, but she wasn't great either. "I could do better," I said when she stepped off. "Really," Miguel asked. "You sing," Mitch asked. "Yeah," I said surprised by their shock. "Go on then," Tori encouraged.

I went over to the dj and requested Hallelujah. As I stepped onto the stage I felt my hands get sweaty and clammy. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath before I began to sing. I sang my heart out and when it was over the crowd clapped. I rejoined the group and they high-fived me. The others soon wandered off leaving me and Hawk alone. "And Miguel wonders why we are so close," I said with a laugh. "He what," he asked. "Yeah that's what he apologized for this afternoon. He assumed something was going on between us and that I was basically trying to steal you from him," I told him. "Well you have stolen my heart," he said. "What do you mean," I asked. "I'll tell you later," he said. "No time like the present, Hawk," I said.

He took me to an empty karaoke room and closed the door. "Well," I said crossing my arms. "I like you Aurelia. I have since you walked into class on your first day of school. And as I got to know you these past couple months you have stolen my heart," he said. "Eli. Do you know why I told you about my dad," I asked. He simply shook his head in response. "I told you because I trust you. And now that I've gotten to know you, the real you, I've realized I've started falling for my friend," I said. He stepped forward backing me into the wall. "Really," he asked hopefulness filling his eyes. "Really. Which is why I say this, will you Eli give me a chance as your girlfriend," I asked. "Hey. That's my line," he said tickling me. "Okay okay. I give," I said through giggles. "Will you give me a chance to be your boyfriend," he asked getting serious. "Answer on three," I asked. "One," he said. "Two," I said.

I waited for him to say three, but instead he pressed his lips to mine. He bit my lip asking for entrance, but I denied. We pulled apart and I smiled bashfully, while he smirked. "I-I'll take that as a yes then," I said. "You bet. And you know what will be fun," he said. "What," I asked. "Hiding this from the others. We can see how smart our friends actually are," he said with a smirk. "I love that idea," I said matching his smirk.
