HEAVEN SENT

IT DIDN'T SHOCK Angel as much as she thought it would when she woke up in the arms of Camilo Madrigal.

She supposed laying with Camilo wasn't so bad, it'd been very comfortable so far, the way he kept his arm wrapped around her waist, hugging her close to him. He emitted such warmth that a blanket would not be able provide for her, it was the welcoming aura he had.

Angel had her head resting on his chest, feeling it rise and fall in sync to his steady breathing. It was oddly soothing, in a way that she couldn't put her finger on, but she wasn't complaining otherwise. His hand crept up to rest on her waist, still sleeping soundly.

"Stop it, it's cute!"

"Not when it's my little sister!"

"I heard them whispering last night, they were super worried about the candle."

"Oh."

Angel finally fluttered her eyes open to see everyone in the room (besides Mirabel, she had gone off somewhere very late at night and didn't come back, presumably settling to sleep in her own room) standing over her and Camilo.

"Uhm?" she hummed, staring up at the group questionably until she noticed what they were also staring at. "Oh..." she rolled out of his arms, propping herself up on her hands.

It was silent for a moment as she received questioning stares from all of them. She finally broke, her hands slipped away from the floor, she was floating up and she wasn't aware until she slammed back to the ground from the force of a hand on her wrist.

"She was worried about the candle and I'm a good person so I comforted her," Camilo's groggily morning voice slurred somewhere next to Angel, lazily smirking at her with his hand on her wrist.

"A good person, huh? I care to disagree," Isabela scoffed playfully, making it rain flowers over his head.

"I'm hungry, breakfast time!" Mateo said hungrily, scooping up his bag to go change.

"And you're a good person, really?" Angel asked, repeating his last words mockingly.

"But you agree, don't you?" Camilo backfired, reaching his hands to the sky in a long stretch.

Angel left the room with a light chuckle and a playful roll of her eyes.

All the adults were a bit tense at breakfast, considering the previous night's events.

"We are all thankful for Antonio's wonderful new-" Señora Alma paused, staring at her seat in horror as three raccoon heads popped up. "-Gift..."

"I told them to warm up your seat!" Antonio explained innocently, looking at his abuela happily.

"Thank you Tonito," she shooed the animals out of her chair, "I'm sure today we will find a way to put your blessings to good use."

"Hah! You do!" Mirabel's shouted across the table, pointing accusingly at Luisa who refused to pay her any attention.

Everyone looked up at her.
