HEAVEN SENT
IN WHICH—
a forgotten family member suggests the unthought ofCAMILO KNEW THAT smirk anywhere. The final smirk Angel showed him before she exited the kitchen said everything but nothing all at the same time. And he definitely recognized the speeding dot of yellow running towards him.
He knew they were gonna meet again that night, they both knew they were gonna meet again that night.
They had a way of communicating with each other that they had built over the years. Neither had spoken about it, they just knew.
They just knew that they would meet once again behind their neighboring houses and talk for all the wasted time they hadn't been able too.
"Hi," he greeted, enveloping her in a big hug that lasted a few seconds longer than any other hug he'd given that day.
Angel stuffed her face into the crook of her neck, mumbling a sweet, "hi," making his neck vibrate. He loved the luring scent of her cherry shampoo that she had never once switched out, and the vanilla perfume that she changed out every so often for a different scent that he could grow to love more.
He loved the feeling of her arms around him, he loved the feeling of her soft locks of pitch black curls that carefully traced his forearms.
"Have you checked on your mamá?" Angel asked with her face still buried in his neck.
Camilo hummed in response. "She's doing alright," he tried to convince her, not taking note of the pouring rain and deafening thunder they were sitting in.
"You aren't cold?"
Angel let go of him, looking down at herself, Camilo noticed she hadn't changed out of her formal wear and hadn't even cared to put on a coat.
"I'm not even supposed to be here," she chuckled lightly, staring at him.
Her eyes were so mesmerizing, he could stare into them until the world stopped turning.
He leaned against the back of his house, holding out his arms for her to hug him again, which she, thankfully, did.
"I know you are," he breathed, rubbing his hands on her arms. "Can't we go inside?"
"Your entire family needs some time to take a breather right now, I don't know if now would be the best time to have guests over."
"You aren't a guest."
Angel merely chuckled, shaking her head as she leaned against his chest.
"I guess we could," she agreed after a moment of silence.

"WHY WOULD EMBRACING ISABELA do anything..?" Mirabel pondered aloud, leaning over the railing and staring at Isabela's door.
Bruno Madrigal looked over at her, they had just reunited with each other after him being missing and hiding in the walls of Casita for ten years. Bruno had another vision just moments before, which displayed Mirabel and Isabela hugging in front of the Candle as the flames glowed brighter.
"I dunno," he shrugged nonchalantly. "Our family got a miracle. How do you help a family miracle—you hug a sister."
"It's fine, Angel, I swear."
The two quickly ducked behind the railings, watching below as Camilo and Angel walked in, soaked in rain water.
"I'm not worried about anything, I just don't want to seem like I'm intruding or anything. Everyone is sort of... vulnerable right now," Angel laughed nervously, her arm linked around Camilo's.
