Lan Xichen's POV:
I was standing in my office looking through scrolls when- "Huan-ge!" I heard Wei Ying call me. Hm? We exchanged smiles. Everyone was staring at us. Everyone just stopped. Except uncle who had started Qi Deviating the moment he heard, and Nie Huaisang who... passed out...
"Why is everyone looking at me like that?" Wei Wuxian asked
Jiang Wanyin looked at me. We locked eyes for a moment in time.
(BUT THAT'S NOT WHAT THIS STORY IS ABOUT! :>)
"You cannot call him so calmly and casually." When Jiang Wanyin said this, uncle quickly collected himself.
"But he gave me permission- no he asked me to call him that." I smiled at Wei Ying and looked at my brother.
"Is this true Xichen?" Uncle asked.
"Yes, uncle, is there a problem?" Uncle called me, Wei Ying and my brother into his office.
We were silent for a few moments. Wangji looked like was trying to figure out what to say.
"Why?" he ended up only saying that word.
"What do you speak of, Wangji?"
"Why does Wei Ying call you that?" Wei Wuxian looked as if he was wondering the same thing.
'They don't know? Aren't they to be wed? Then he would be my brother-in-law, right?'
"Oh! You two are soon to get married, correct?" I don't know if it was just me, but it felt like the room just got hotter. Uncle was not about to faint again this time.
"H-huh?" Wei Wuxian was the most shocked of the three.
"No? It seems I misinterpreted the situation...^^"
"Lan Xichen... Why would you think such a thing?" Uncle was, trying hard to not raise his voice.
"Because, if it were a woman would they not have immediately gotten married?"
The three were dumbfounded. No one knew how to respond to this. The first to comment was, of course, Wei Wuxian.
"I mean, he didn't lie though." His playful smirk and tone returned. "Grandmaster, did you not say that you will start the preparations immediately, when we found the one whom Lan Zhan loved?"
"W-Wei Wuxian!!!" Uncle was looking for the nearest scroll to throw at his head.
I quickly leapt in "Uncle, is it not a rule of the Cloud Gusu to stay true to your word?" he put the scroll down and started brushing his goatee with his hand. "Lan Huan as my nephew I must take into consideration what you say, but this..." (Lan Huan is Xichen's birth name) I smiled. "Very well uncle I will give you time to think".
"Wangji, Wei Wuxian please, follow me." The two followed behind me, one with a playful smirk the other with burning red ears. We stopped at a city in the Jiangnan area where I left them alone.
