Wei Wuxian's Pov:
..."But... who do you think it is?" Lan Xichen said quietly. Lan Qiren stayed quiet and I turned to leave, but a hand rested on my shoulder stopping me "No getting out of this... Who do you think it is Wei Wuxian?"
I froze. I wanted to say Mianmian, but some part of me thought other wise. The long pause caused Lan Qiren to give a long sigh. He said "Wei Wuxian, I will give you 3 weeks to figure out who this person is." "If successful I will excuse you being out of your chambers at such an hour." "If not...14 lashes!!!"
I looked down at Lan Zhan who was giving me a worried or concerned expression. 'He must hate the idea of having to be seen with me.' I felt my face fell a bit but I quickly concealed it with a bright smile. "Challenge accepted!" Lan Qiren's face absolutely fumed "Challenge, Wei Wuxian this a situation of life or death!" "I- I understand" I said smiling nervously taking Lan Zhan's arm dragging him with me outside while Lan Qiren rambled on and on.
We walked arm in arm in silence for a while. Lan Zhan seemed to be completely oblivious to the awkwardness in the air. He almost seemed to be smiling! Me on the other hand! I don't even need a mirror to know my face looked like I had committed a murder with the blood of my enemies flushing my face. I chuckled softly to myself at the thought.
The tension in the air eased up slightly at that. When Lan Zhan stopped walking and turned to face me. "Wei Ying..." I faced him too and responded "Yes Lan Zhan-" "There's something that I need to tell you." "Me too" His ears turned a light shade of pink and he said "Wei Ying first."
"Lan Zhan..."
"Mn"
"Lan Zhan..."
"Mn"
"Tell me Lan Zhan..."
"Mhm"
"Lan Zhan..."
"Mnn-"
"DO YOU LIKE MIANMIAN?!"
His face got emptier than I thought possible though he simply responded with a "No". I asked, "Oh then... what did you want to tell me Lan Zhan?" "Mn- don't mind it." I sighed, "Okay then Lan Zhan though tomorrow you must promise to tell me the person that you like, tell me her name I'll make her fall in love with you I swear- you just have to tell me...."
